  2. I have a serious lack of Who in my opinion, handful of live shows, some vinyl, cassettes,CDs & no legit DVD releases, I think they'll be moved to the top of the list.

I really want to get Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970 & Live at the Royal Albert Hall.

  3. LOL, well it may seem that way, but I only mention things I do have & say nothing if I don't. Buying a computer with a 360 GB HDD didn't help either. I've actually tried to stop downloading until I got all my CDs organized (in cases with covers) so far I still have 12 full spindles (50 disc per) to go through, as well hundreds of paper sleeved CDs (lets not talk about my hard drive). I did take my email off my trade list to slow things down but I forsee an intervention coming my way about my trading and downloading.

Sadly, the DVD I mentioned above doesn't seem to work, even on my computer (I wanted to copy it), so it looks like I gotta try & get another copy off the guy again, now this guy (Rev. Jim) has everything & anything on DVD, I know Stoned Phillips will concur with me on this.

  4. Yep, awesome tune & version. I have this on a DVD of various Who video's & live footage. Great stuff.

    [edit to add]

Thanks for putting this in my head actually, think I'll throw on some Who.

  5. On a somewhat related note (Zappa content), I just saw this on another baord, although no link was provided, its from Relix so I'm sure someone has it or can find a link.

Relix: What's your opinion of bands covering Frank's music onstage, as Phish used to?

Gail Zappa: One thing you fight for as an artist is that you get paid for your work. Here's the way I look at it: They're playing Frank's music and I'm not getting paid. Frank did not write it for them to play without paying him, so they sure as f*ck should have paid me. It's small money to perform it, cents on a dollar. That's what I don't understand. Why wouldn't they want to do right by the artist? What do they write music for? Do they buy groceries for their kids? Well, so did Frank Zappa.

Relix: I take it that's how you feel about anyone playing Frank's music?

Gail Zappa: In America every day rock musicians f*ck people over by not turning in their setlists for licensing. They're much more stringent in Europe. Don't get me wrong. I love people covering Frank's music. But I want them to license it, I want them to get permission, and I want them to pay.

  6. Having grown up around Outlaw MC (2 uncles are members) I can atest to some being really nice guys, even fun to be around. Would I trust any of them? Nope. Is there more then just guys wanting to ride, party hard etc? yep, its organized crime, plain & simple. Pretty much why I never ever wanted to join when I had a bike (72 Triumph custom), that and fear of my father kickin my ass across the country. Not to mention end up like my uncle, which is another story altogether.

As for the hounding folks who own harleys, it happens I guess but usually the person themself fits the profile or acts the part, hence the attraction of the clubbers. I have a lot of friends with harleys and not one has ever been bothered by anyone. I know many Hamilton folks have met my buddy Brian who used to come to La Luna's & Casbah for shows on occasion, he was asked once by a guy he worked with that was HA, he declined without any issue nor was asked again.

  7. coming out early (after 5 weeks)

holy sheepshit! that's quite a vacation...

Last summer we were in for 5 1/2 weeks, planned on 8 but due to a few unfortunate circumstances we had to pull out early.

I keep forgetting the rumor in Ottawa was I went to rehab not canoeing, my review never got posted in the travel forum either, I'm not the best writer so I assumed that was the reason.

  8. That would be one hell of a portage. Is the river that flows by the campground the big east river?? There is an annual ride down the big east out of Huntsville every July 1st weekend. What a pissfest. I fell out of the canoe last time I was on it. What a bender.

It would be a good portage thats for sure but not really too bad. Where we usually are it would probally take another two days to get to the Magnetawan, (taking it easy thats is) then from there it would be a breeze.

  9. FAB FOUR-EVER

An album featuring "completely new music" by the Fab Four is to be released this summer, concurrent with a glitzy Las Vegas stage show that will feature the tunes, reps for the band said yesterday.

The album comes 36 years after the rockers broke up, and 25 years after the death of John Lennon and more than four years after the death of George Harrison.

The new tunes will be cobbled together from hundreds of hours of tape of The Beatles' music.

Surviving band members Paul McCartney, 63, and Ringo Starr, 65, will help supervise the project.

"It involves the creation, by the remixing and remastering of The Beatles' recorded performances, of completely new music," said Neil Aspinall, head of the band's Apple Records.

The new tunes will appear in a show by Cirque du Soleil, the famed French troupe of acrobats, at the Mirage in Vegas.

The project was the idea of Harrison, two years before his death.

Aspinall said great care is being taken not to create a nostalgia show, but one that will reflect The Beatles' "uniqueness."

  10. My key interest in it right now is trying to get some Harvard Mouse tracks up on the HM site, which seems kind of bare without any audio. I'll be sure to throw up a link if ever this gets accomplished.

Well, you've got enough info on mp3 encoders, but you could always give permission at archive.org, upload some shows, then link to entire shows there from the HM website also. Just a thought.

  11. No myspace here. Don't see the purpose, nor do I feel a need to promote myself, I have a blog if I want to do that. Although in two years I've only posted half a dozen times to that thing.

I frequent about four messageboards, thats more then enough for me and emails or phone calls are more the adequate for me to keep in touch with my friends.
