I don't dig 50 Cent at all, I feel he has little talent, a little brain, and little balls (not like I think about that sorta thing...)
I really don't like the fact that he bad mouths Canada and its Border regulations and poeple actually supported him, in Toronto. You don't see people bad mouthing the American's border control, why should USA's safety and integrity be more important than Canada's???
Furtheremore, I can't believe how big of a raucus this guy is causing while we should be thinking about other things (like our upcoming election for one) and not some stupid, lame, sell-out, tupac wannabe...
50 Cent, if you want to come to Canada fine, as I am sure there are many feeble minded people that listen to your nauseating music and want to see ure ugly mug live. However, if you wanna come up to Canada, at least respect us, and even if you do, I will not be giving you a cent.
ahh, it feels good to rant....

Oh man, I feel so bad for those two...they'll never be able to live that down
on the other hand...HAHAHAHAHA
-
can anybody tell me the main differences between sirius and xm radio???
-
And if I am allowed two more
The New Deal - Mod Club (umm the date escapes me, I think it was sometime near Thanksgiving of this year)
moe. - moe.down 6 - Sunday night, a great set, Terrapin??? damn straight...
-
woooo, thanks Marky!
I'll see y'all there!
btw, I was wondering who the "one of our favourite guitarists" was that you had mentioned in the Keller show annoucement!
THANKS AGAIN!! this is gonna be super duper sweet sauce
-
In no particular order
Matisyahu - moe.down 6 (on the Sunday, I believe)
Gov't Mule - Bonnaroo (on the Saturday?)
STS9 - Bonnaroo (on the Friday night, til sunrise)
-
I'm definately not bashing Bonnaroo.
Bonnaroo changed my life the first time I went and I'll never forget it, I love Bonnaroo and will continue to love Bonnaroo, however there are other festivals out there that appeal to different tastes...
BTW, I'm pretty sure the lineup announcement will be late January/early Feb
-
Thanks AD, Matisyahu is awsome and his new album will be great judging by the new songs I've heard at some of his shows.
I've even had the good luck to see him debut two of his new songs, one at moe.down and one at Lee's Palace in Toronto...
-
Bonnaroo definately has the most diversity and the biggest bands in the festival game today. The experience is also almost like none other do its sheer size and like AD said, wandering around in the middle of the night hearing 3 different bands in a span of 4 hours on all sorts of crazy umm "enhancements" is really cool. And STS9 played for about five hours this past year right into sunrise...really really cool feeling walking back to the campsite at 6 am after seeing amazing music.
Then again, moe.down is also really really sweet. I've only gone this year (#6) but it was so much fun. The campsite being only 5 minutes away from the stage was a big plus (as opposed to 30 minutes at roo) and its nice only having a small main area to groove out to. If your a fan of moe. then moe.down is probably the festival to see.
Come Together is really amazing but for different reasons. Come Together is exactly what the name is, its extremely laid back nature is really cool and I've met many new friends there. The stage is kinda sub par what with the huge pole in the middle but then again when your jamming out to BNB or JFJO who really cares about the stupid pole??
This year I am going to try and make it out to some more festivals, Summer Camp intrigues me, espcially if moe. plays three nights again and Wakarusa and 10K Lakes are always possibilities.
Basically I think that all festivals are sweet because they bring people together to watch some great music, have some great times, and forget about anything thats bothering them for a weekend. Besides, anything that spreads that much happiness is alright by me

As far as some older albums I bought this year...
Gov't Mule - Self Title
New Deal - Gone Gone Gone
Iron and Wine - Our Endless Numbered Days
Grateful Dead - Europe 72
Warren Haynes - Live at Bonnaroo
Jack Johnson - Brushfire Fairytales
The Who - Magic Bus
STS9 - Artifact
and one more new one
Thelonious Monk Quartet with John Coltrane - Live at Carnegie Hall
-
Iron and Wine and Calexico - In the Reigns
STS9 - Artifacts: Perspective
-
According to pollstar.com Bonnaroo is going to be June 16-18 in 2006...and it also says the Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are playing, which would make sense considering the huge tour they are doing in support of an upcoming album.
This may or may not be true, just thought I'd give everyone a heads up...if anyone cares anymore, why do I feel like there are so many better festivals out there (like Come Together, for one)
-
"hey who is grabbing my ass?"
-
Hey this may be a little late for people, but I just called the Docks here's the sked:
Calexico on at roughly 840
Iron and Wine on at roughly 930
Some guy (me thinks its one of the guys from Calexico) is doing a short set between Iron and Wine and supergroup
Iron and Wine and Calexico comes on at roughly 1030
see ya'll there

Life is an interesting flow
When you know where you want to be
But not where you want to go
And you’ve been around so long
But with nothing to show
So leave it in the dust
And come with us
To a more exciting place
With smiles and lust
And life never gets rust
And ease the mind with no pain
And then you’ll find you’ll gain
A little less of the same
And more than just a name
Besides what’s in a name
Except just the name of you game
And how do you value fame
Today’s the day of your trial
So be sure to reach that extra mile
Be sure to give out that extra smile
Then you might just stick around for awhile
Longer than you might be
Part the sea and you’ll see
What lies beneath
Is the soul and tree
But the tree never comes for free
Are you willing to pay the price
Will being yourself just suffice
Can you back up that roll of the dice
Are you willing to pay the price for life
Come back and dive in no regrets
Just remember not everyone gets
But everyone frets
Can you afford to pay your debts?
So remember life is an interesting flow
No one knows where they want to be, just know
Only two things for sure everyday you grow
And one day, we all have to go
peace

I'll be there with a big group...should be fun, my second time at the docks in a span of a month, Ratdog was sweet wasnt it?
Iron and Wine and Calexico gonna be good, anyone know what time the show starts? and which band is going on first?
-
I love Matisyahu, I've seen him a couple times and his shows are high energy with lots of good vibes. If you get a chance to see him I highly recommend it. He is playing Buffalo on December 28...
also look for their new album coming out sometime in March i believe.

Dave Matthews Band plays a great live show. While they aren't as great as they once were (circa Under the Table and Dreaming) they are really tight and are a fun band to watch. However, having said this, at 100 dollars (which is how much a ticket was offered to me at) they are not worth it.
They are a great band though, the Bonnaroo show was great.
Nice to see they are playing with a band like Soulive and getting the band to play some cameos at the show. I can understand why people don't like Dave Matthews Band, but being a fan since pretty early on I am still a fan and always will be.
