I'm not sure if Bullfrog plays the kind of music I'd want to party to on newyears eve. Maybe newyears day- as i sleep it away. They are more a decent hiphop act than anything. Kid koala is amazing, but thats a show i find interesting for about 15 minutes. Maybe on a headfull of drugs it'd be a different story.

Hey Beats. That show will be a blast. I think the plan is to have both bands set up on stage and do nero>gtb>nero>gtb, and I'm sure there will be some crazy jamming involved, and perhaps some both bands at once action. I know of 5 people for sure who are interested/confirmed.. it'd be cool to have a serious Ontario contingency.. I'm sure cool stuff will be going down in Ontario too. For those who can't make it..

Jomomma is playing in Kitchener I know for sure. They are a great band to party with, and dance your ass off too.. the room is the Lancaster tavern and it's a beautiful place to watch a show, (great sound/ ambience of a ski lodge)

AND, I'm sure BnB will be playing somewhere in Southern Ontario too.. They've been hinting, and I'm sure they'll have a great blowout no matter where they play.

So don't worry, if you can't make it out East, there will be great parties in Ontario too.

That Medeski/Scofield show in Montreal during jazzfest was something else too. But it somehow wasn't as amazing as the previous year with Ribot. Maybe it was the fact they only did one long set this year. good show though.

Sex mob is cool.. i have a couple of their discs. Kind of like good jazz with a sense of humour. They do a weird rendition of the macarena.. they are weirdos. with a Sun Ra vibe.

BUt I'v enever heard ozomatli.. so i can't help there. have fun!

Hey all! Happy MOnday.. nice to see that winter is on our doorstep. Thought this might be a nice time to reflect on something we all love.. shows! best and worst..of the year.. (or all time)

worst: although the music was great during their , cough cough..1 set!!, soulive at the cabaret in montreal, was a pretty major dissapointment.. with a turnout of like 60 people, lame opening band-kudu i think, band looked bored/angry, tables on the floor, people tapping dancers on the shoulder to sit. weird and too bad.. such a great band.

best: Trey at RedRocks, night #2. The feel of that night, the sound, the crowd, the venue, the buzz, will always be remembered as one of my favorites.

that was hard. this has been a show-filled year.

Word on the street is that The Great James Brown is in town to do the new jackie chan movie and his band is actually stopping by the Silver Dollar Room tonight to play a few sets for a no cover packed house.
