  1. Another good bored game is to check out Barrymore's website. they have an amazing history section with all the old preformances listed. Would've liked to have caught that Red hot Chili Peppers show in 1986! i think that was the year i first came across them, in the movie Tough Guys..

(Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas.. sweet flick)

  2. I've got a lot less respect for Allanah Myles.

She was on TV earlier this year, singing Black Velvet. That was a minor hit like 12 years ago, and she looks like she's spent a few nights in alleys since the good ole days.

Black Velvet, and the little boys cryyyy..

When they see my skeletal corpse, and my sketchy sunken eyes..

  3. I was thinking today, that every year I look forward to my Christmas Eve chinatownbeer tradition. Since grade 11, (which I guess is coming on like 11 years ago), the same group of friends and I have made the rounds to each others homes, given our respects to everyones family, and then headed to chinatown (the only place you can find an open bar on xmas eve).

4 or 5 years ago, we went to the Golden River, and 3 (of 5) of us got violent food poisoning from the greasy general tao's chicken. Spent Xmas morning puking so hard I blew all the blood vessels around my eyes and looked like a mutant.. and hearing: "I can't believe you got drunk on Christmas eve!!" "I swear I didn't mom!!". anyone have any interesting Xmas traditions?

  4. Check out this tale from the Ween tour diaries..

Aug 24 - Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Denver, CO with Galactic and Tenacious D.

Red Rocks is the nicest venue we've ever played, and maybe the nicest venue in the world. We played there two nights in a row opening up for Big Head Todd and the Monsters back in 1994, but we were headlining this show, and Tenacious D were on the bill so this was a really special night for us. I don't get nervous before gigs very often anymore, but we were definitely amped and anxious for this one. We had no idea how many people would show up (it holds like 10,000) so i was kinda worried that it would be empty. As it turns out, like 8,000 people showed up, and it was a classic night. Tenacious D lived up to their promise of turning the place into "red rubble" and kicked all sorts of ass. If you haven't checked these guys out yet you don't know what you're missing. We got to play a full 2 hours, which was great. I felt like I was in Pink Floyd playing at Pompeii or something. Hung out afterwards and spent the rest of the night getting fucked up with "The D", doing lines of blow off of some fat girl's ass. Classic. We talked about doing more shows together, so hopefully it'll happen.

  5. you must've misread brad. chicken heads on stage, chicken corpses in leather in the audience.

seriously though, if you like sabbath, they do a great job. all superb musicians, AND super nice guys too. The Singer is also one of the best drummers in the city, i thnk he does some percussion.. but he used to play in the boogiemen, and they were unfukingbelievable.. my favorite ottawa show (local artist) i ever saw was rotating sets, bob loblaw and the boogiemen.. we were already pissed, but that show really put us on our asses. incredible!

  6. Primus Sucks!!

I remember i saw primus at verdun arena in montreal, with mike watt (from firehose fame) opening.. and they had a sweet bass duel.. anyway, like a good primus fan, I was drunkenly screaming "PRIMUS SUCKS!! PRIMUS SUCKS!", after the opening set was over..

And I realized that no-one knew that was their chant, even their website is primussucks.com .. eventually these three guys started cursing at me in crazy quebec french, cause i was definitley the only one screaming it, and they started chanting, "pree-muss, preee-muss.."

which is i guess what primus sounds like in french. confused.gif" border="0 . anyway, it was fun.. and yep, thats even Les in the opening cartoon.
