  1. Your parties were always the best, fellas.. thanks for sharing your home and everything in it with so many people, for so many years...Definitley the most generous people I've ever known. Looking forward to continuing to enjoy your company and friendship in other venues.

    luv always

  2. yep, its good timez over here!

I'm leading the 'First Class Private Journey' to India in February.. AD- I'd love for you to come.

And.. I know you're all wondering....and the answer is...

    YES!

    ....Ollie's mom IS hot!!

  3. Interesting show last night! ... I realized at about 10:58 that Ed wasnt there, and I had to go it alone. With only half a show worth of music, I freaked out for a few seconds, but with a bit of help from the previous DJ, and my mad verbal improv skills, I did it alone.. trial by fire! Fun stuff and not too hard, it turned out. Ed called about midnight and said he had fallen asleep after school and missed it! Turned out to be a great way to learn everything.

To give you an idea of the stuff I played: Steely Dan, Hylozoists, Sloan, Kings of Leon, Revolting Cocks, Peter Bjorn and John, some weird bluegrass, Rheostatics.. and some other stuff.

    Anyway, yaa its fun!

And yes William, 'elbeejay!' continues to rock out weekly in a Gilmour Street basement.. I think we'll be gigging around later in the fall.

    thanks for asking!

ps- Andre- there is no air supply in the Carleton archives!!

  4. Hello Children of the Board!

Hope you've all had a nice summer!

So, Ed Staples (of Gruvlix fame) and I (lixgrooves fame) have begun co-hosting a radio show on CKCU (93.1 on your FM dial)- Tuesday nights at 11pm. (TA-NIGHT MA-FA!).

It's basically a cornicopius mix of all things smooth and sweet, hard and soft, bitter and shameful. In essence, we're spinning all our favourite music into a bit of a musical man-stew; so we've titled our program:

    BewCocky Salsa

    Cum join us!!

    XOXOXO

  5. The last time I ate at the Golden Turtle (and I do mean the LAST time)there was a huge roach (non-smokable) crawling around on the table. I pointed this out to the waiter, he shrugged and mumbled something and left it free to roam.

That's one authentic Asian experience I don't need.

Ive heard that from a lot of people I know..Its certainly a dive, but they just put some kind of special greasy love into their broth that I havent found better..

'special greasy love' is the band me and bradm are starting.

  6. Wonton House on Wellington is great for American style chinese food, also Cathay which is located on Albert at Bank. Real deal Asian- I most enjoy Vietnamese- Pho Bo Ga, Golden Turtle, but also So Good (yes on the Wu Se- veg. or chicken), Shanghai and Northern Han (x-Northern 2).. mmm

Manx is good for any meal. yumm. and best and freshest tasting draught selection in town.

Italian- I think Capone's is good too, but I prefer IlPiccolino, Pub Italia on Preston.. Giovanni's is apparently great too.

    eat well.

  7. Jaydawg,

If you have an open slot- you should get a hold of LURE... www.abandcalledlure.com

They are touring out there right up to that weekend, and would probably love to play the fest.. They are a great band- and would suit the vibe perfectly!

    me think.
