I have died and gone to heaven. Thank you boys. I've missed you terribly. This news made me cry.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :o;)

I was waiting for this... ;)

  2. So now we know why the Punk climbs trees...everything makes sense now ;)

Maybe someone should dose all the troops in the Middle East, or for that matter everywhere...can't do much fussin' & fightin' if you're gigglin' like a fool! ;):o

  3. C.O.P., I was there last night for my very first Sisters show. I was amazed.

Too bad I didn't know to hook up with you.

Great to hear that you made it into Orbit...next time just PM me though I won't be able to make it until the next holiday Monday...Thanksgiving looks like...I'm sure the second set was as good as the first...and hey, you witnessed a classic "Breit-Tale"...lost keys and no Todd Rundgren show...

  4. How the hell could I forget "Lily" as Kevin pulled out the electric mandolin and ripped that one up as it's a FA diddy which of course Russ adds his b-flavour to...and Helpless was stunning as usual...the crowd was blown away...a very solid first set...wish I could've stayed for the second but life is a whole lot busier lately but it's all good... ;):)

  5. Well, after too many missed Mondays because of work & the Sisters being on the road I finally found myself back in Orbit for a set last night...great to see the familiar Orbiters and I'm guessing a few skanks...the dreads were a giveaway as well as the hoots & howls...very sweet for the set to start of with Tumbleweed Tea...that is a first in over three years as far as I can think...and Faith Cola was refreshing and good to the last drop..er...note that is...Donna Lee was fun and Russ filled in for Ian as he's a Folk Alarmist...Ian is off in Australia with Jeff from the Tea Party who is now into World Music and is a huge fan of Ian's many styles...great for Ian...

All I can say is I can't wait to be back for another Monday which will probably be in October as my Mondays will be spent in London where I have formally joined the ranks as an "educator"...

And as always I encourage those who haven't experienced a Monday night with the Sisters to get yer ass into Orbit...it'll be the best 6 bones you'll ever spend... ;):o

  6. It's ALWAYS FRICKIN' COLD & A GAMBLE for the Labour Day Weekend Weather...anyone remember the second night at The Great Went or Lemonwheel??? Or for that matter most .moedowns???

After GW, I put together an AWESOME festival kit with warm woolies, rain gear and quick & easy to make warm comfort food...ya gotta come expecting Mother Nature to put on one of her classic shows as well...otherwise Dima, ya might as well stay at home in yer lazyboy recliner watchin' a fake campfire on yer large screen TV... ;)

  7. one time, back in the early nineties, I owed Andre for something awful. He collapsed my tent after a bender camping party. I'm sure I plotted for months until this came to be.

SO to get him back, I put an add in the free giveaway section of a Kingston paper that basically said:

"thousands of grateful dead tapes. free to good home"

Included his phone number, and they had to unplug their phone. IT was GOLD!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!...NICE ONE!!! ;)

  8. Yesterday we're killing time while prepping sessions and listening to G.Love's new album/cd...there's a duet with a girl with a very familiar voice and after some quick googling we end up on Tristan Prettyman's website...

Very catchy tunes and that upbeat and relaxing westcoast surf feel...without question another friend of Jack Johnson and G.Love...totally getting hooked on this stuff as Jack's laid back surf music has been soothing some frayed nerves...

Not what you'd classify "jam" music but so what...just very well-produced music from a very talented girl... :)

...and of course she's up on My Space

  9. The old Punk is notorious for not logging off and during his Nero days he was at my place in T-Dot before heading off to play a show...well, I logged in as "The Punk" and put forth the contest that if someone were to guess his middle name they would win his Fender Bass...so during set break quite a few people were approaching him calling out his middle name and he didn't have a frickin' clue as to what was going on until he realized that someone/me had stolen his identity...lots of fun with that one...I think Booche actually knew his middle name and was convinced he had won a bass... ;)

  10. HOLY sh!t!!!! UN-FUGGIN-BELIEVABLE!!!

This is what scares me...not MY driving but the IDIOTS like this numbskull who just don't get the fact that DRINKING & DRIVING DO NOT MIX...

I swear if I ever come across anyone, skank or otherwise, who is this intoxicated and climbs behind the wheel, they will find my foot so far up their ass that they'll be chewing on the rubber from my Birks...

    ***shaking my head***

  11. I don't want to sound like an asshole but why does this become a woman's issue, this is a HUMAN issue. Statistically AIDS is a much larger problem for men. Maybe I'm opening the wrong can of worms, but feminism has had it's time and place, it's time to move on to humanism and focus on HUMAN issues. AIDS doesn't pick or choose what sex it attacks.

The focus of this conference was about AIDS and how it is affecting African Women. Many mothers have died because of having AIDS from being raped. They've left their children to be raised by the Grandmothers who's husbands have either desserted them or have died themselves.

In Africa, it is very much about the Women and how they are surviving against impossible odds. Yes, it is a Human issue and that was also part of the conference which is too massive to sum up on this board...

I never had the feeling it was a "feminist" issue but applaud the women who are doing so much more than many governments throughout the world...

AIDS doesn' pick it's victems but the people that have it and inflict it upon women through rape do...yep, that is a whole other can of worms...

  12. Very true. However, are there any affordable/free apps that will do this?

Do a search/google for Cute PDF Writer...it's an app that takes your document and prints it as a PDF file but instead of printing it you can save it to your Doc Folder.

It is/was a free program. I use it all the time for converting business docs that are for email.

Also once your doc becomes a PDF file it cannot be changed or altered by anyone else unless they have a full blown version of Adobe.

  13. As long as you can save your file as Rich Text Format (*.rtf) or save as a Word doc (*.doc) they will be able to open it perfectly without formatting issues.

    Later. . .

    Kanada Kev =8)

I have to disagree with this as Word doc's can open up in an entirely different layout then how and what program they were created in.

The safest way to export a word file so that it looks identical in any program is a PDF file.

  14. Some of you may know that I make my living recording, editing and creating sound design for animation, film & TV...

Here's a short film that we did the complete sound design, mix & music score that has gained recognition in the Short Film Festival circuits...

    Existentialism

Before beginning the sound design and mix I watched many documentary and films of WWll nature..."Band of Brothers" is simply incredible, not only for the reason that it is the real thing, but the production is hands down the best of anything I have ever watched...
