  1. Like I said, a bit o'egg on my face...hey, it's Sunday fer gawd's sake... ;) ...and given the fact that I'm downshifting from working EVERY DAY since the beginning of September (including weekends!) I think I've done alright for kinda staying in the loop... ;)

NO SISTERS THIS MONDAY. They won't be back until January 8th. I finally made it out last Monday and such a treat as Kevin sang a couple of tunes...

And upcoming news is he's just finished a second CD with Cyro and also a follow up CD with Harry Manx...the boy has been busy :o

  2. Egg on my face...Super Freak already posted this under "Uh Oh"...and it wasn't in NYC but in Whitehall, NY...

But driving in NY with a suspended liscense...

Maybe there'll be some impromptu "benefit" concerts coming up in lieu of community service... ;)

Or they'll just demand Phish to reunite for a NYE run at MSG!!! :o

  3. Well, guess I'm not above the "gossip rags"... ;)

Trey got busted last night at 3:30am in New York for a DUI-drugs. A bottle

of ca. 60 perscription pain killers (not his script) including hydrocodone,

xanax, and some others I can't remember the names of was found in the car.

    Shitty for him.

Hope this doesn't put a damper on his NYE concert...

  4. As I'm watching the final encore song "Don't Dream It's Over" from the final concert of Crowded House on November 24, 1996, I still can't think that this was one of THE BEST bands that crafted incredible pop songs and managed to blend a truley distinct taste of "down under" combined with elements of water, passion, earth, romance, heartache and so much more...

I have been waiting for a decade for this concert to be released to the masses and when my brother and his family headed to New Zealand, the birthplace of my niece, it crossed my mind to "google" "Crowded House" and low and behold their final concert had JUST been released with out-takes and that sweet DVD bonus footage....off I ran to HMV to grab my copy but life has been so busy it wasn't until two weeks later that I managed to sit down and take in the show...that SKIPPED halfway through so back to HMV I roamed to exchange my copy for one that worked....

I have always drawn a line between Neil Finn & Phish...it is without question that they share similiar song structure and colourful lyrics that conjure up images of unique obscurity and was confirmed when Phish turned to Tchad Blake to produce their final albums who Neil Finn & Crowded House have turned to for some of their best written and produced albums...and to see Neil play with members of Radiohead only solidifies his presence and influences in modern music..

Like someone who once stated..."Crowded House is a band that makes you want to give up your day to day life and join this band..."

    - Crowded House have left the building -

  5. Just tucked this in the I Didn't Know That file - Kevin Breit (and Kurt Swinghammer) are part of the back-up crew on Serena Ryder's new CD.

Maybe folks already knew that. Seems to me Kevin's guitar and Serena's voice should be a winning combination. Anyone heard it? She's got a cover of Cohen's Sisters of Mercy on there that I'm dying to hear.

It's hard not to find an artist from Canada/Ontario these days that Kevin isn't backing...when he's not sessioning in New York, he's sessioning in Toronto and the flip side...but only makes sense as he's a virtuoso on almost anything with strings...

  6. A producer at ABC lost her job for allowing Borat to go on the air without realizing or being aware he was in character. (the scene where he's being interviewed on the ABC monring show and stands up, etc.)

Upon leaving this flic, we were discussing about how we've censored almost everything to the point of it being impossible to talk on any subject without offending someone or some culture...

Case in point...instead of recognizing the humour of this "gag interview" and having a laugh while wearing a bit of egg on the face, someone was fired???

Just my humble opinion but it's time that people learn to relax just a bit and not get their undies in a knot over every little silly thing that happens...

Sad that a producer lost her job over this as it was all about humour...

  7. Saw this flick last night and even though it's a comedy in the style of "shock & awe" humour, it has multiple levels...

Laughed my ass off regardless...it's banned in Russia or parts of and I'm wondering why it hasn't been banned in the states as it pokes just as much fun at them as Russia...

    Worth every cent!!!

  8. Happy B-Day Sweet Sharon!!! Hope I get to see you guys sometime soon or at least by the end of this year...

I'm sure that Mike has gone all out for this momentous occasion and if he hasn't let me know 'cause that'll give me an excuse to drive to O-Town, kick his ass and sit in yer hot tub and sip some brewskies ;)

  9. I'd say that they would most certainly be playing on Dec 18 and it will probably also be their annual Christmas Bash with Gifts o'plenty for the masses...

I haven't been to a Sisters night in a few months as I'm not in Toronto on Mondays & Tuesdays but sure that this date is a set in stone at The Orbit...

  10. For those of you who are looking to begin Halloween celebrations early The Sisters Euclid will be celebrating their 10th year playing at The Orbit Room this Monday, October 30th.

The Sisters will be offering up their collection of original material plus will be joined by several of the guest musicians who lent their musical talents for their latest release "Faith Cola"...

It's killing me that I won't be able to be in attendance for what is sure to be a smokin' Monday night and I hope some of you find your way into Orbit...

  11. What else can one say about this person who truly has his priorities in place and lives his life for someone who can't fully live theirs...and gives everything without expecting anything in return...

This is what news/media should be focussing more on and less about the evils in the world to "boost" their ratings...I think if we were exposed more to stories such as this one instead of the same news of war, crime and the likes there would an improvement in relations everywhere...

  12. man oh fuggin man...

Well, the past two games I saw one team who played solid and as a team

The other team, if that's what you could catagorize that as, just a bunch of guys with what seemed to be lack of direction coming from behind the bench...

That wasn't hocky...that was just embarrassing...

  13. If my post came across as a wee bit surly, it's because my Loafs are getting their asses kicked again and I was venting...

Instead of buying a recording DAW, you could probably pick yourself up a slightly-used, worn-out hockey club for under $400.00... ;)

  14. I don't need any recording software as my mac has garageband.

ahhh, if you want to actually "go to town" on your mixes, Garage Band ain't gonna cut it...

I am trying to find some alternatives to a Digidesign MBox for audio capture and midi routing.

Do yourself a favour NOW...instead of rushing out and buying a piece of equipment that will soon be limiting for you, seriously look at the MBox 2...you'll be kicking yourself for months if you don't...you live in Vangroovy so I'm sure that there are music stores giving Digi-demos frequently...

So far the box of choice for me is the focusrite saffire, as it has nice mic pre's, comes with ableton live, and looks really nice.

LOOKS REALLY NICE???...who fuggin' cares...it comes down to what comes out of the box...not what the box looks like...decent pre-amp???...if you're paying $400.00 for the whole unit the pre-amp is nothing special...Have you seen all of the software that comes with ProTools besides Ableton?...if you want to MIDI-out, you also have reason, the brand new free plug-in Xpand and so much more...

Take some time, do some research and demos and then make your choice...it's only a suggestion but don't opt out for the cheaper version...you will regret it...

  15. Yes, hats off to Mats...obviously he had a HUGE bowl of his Campbell's Chunky Soup!!!

    How sweet was that???

    500 Goal + Hat-Trick + Short-Handed = SWEET!!!

  16. someone copied my bank card and has used it!!!

    Emptying my account!!!

    BULLSHIT

Wow, that really sucks RD...Howler had her account pilferred last year and I'm thinking more and more of this as I use my bank cards so much, both for our business (scary) and personal...

Will your bank credit the money back to you?...for all the bullshit service charges we pay I hope they do...

Damn that sucks...just the invasion of privacy is a pisser!!! }:(

  17. This is Booche:

My favorite thing in that game?

Kovalev's backhand that hit the post during the shootout. Did you fucking see that shit?

    BACKHAND!

How does someone have that ability? Fuckme.

My guess is that while some of us were out livin' with the Dead, others were out livin' on the ice...

Sorry, I'll pass on the fornication request... :P
