  1. In one of my readings for school on adolescent development it states

"one of the favorite pastimes of contemporary youth is music. Positive role models such as Micheal Jackson affect the norms of youth and must be capiatlized uopn.".. [Eek!][Eek!][Eek!]

The paper was published in 1990...although the whole dangling the baby thing had'nt taken place yet, his behavior did not seems like role model material to me...scary stuff!

    well...maybe the moonwalk [Wink]

  2. WOW...do you want o write my next paper.

you are right Brad..it just struck me as kinda of odd, I guess cause even in 1990 I would'nt have thought I could make a connection with youth by refering to Micheal Jackson.

it just made me chuckle a bit and sharing it provided me with a relief from studying.

  3. Montreal madness..... thought we mighta been able to go looting after that famous allouette victory, but it was not to be.

Nero rocked, they're sounding great and possibly ready to take on american crowds.

Big thanks to Blane for the couch, hospitality. Thanks to Gentlemonkey for buying 2 dozen bagfels and cream cheese at 5AM- what a treat.

thanks to the mtl cabbies for various adventures and to Stapes for lookin so good.

whoops this is DB, by the way....

  4. Central Park is definatly worth taking a stroll

through(during the day, and depending on the weather!). You can check out Strawberry fields and wonder around. We when were there we

saw this a jazz band and the guy was playing two horns(very well) at the same time.

Tabacco Road may a good bar to check out, not too far off the main strip in Manhatten we saw a great band there before a show and it seemed like good band were a norm for the place.

  5. You can probably figure out the highlights from the setlist, but for me they were:

the Eleven, Lost Sailor (which was pretty as hell, Bobby just fantastic), Terrapin (rough-ish Lady with a Fan for Phil, but the rest of it was stellar), gorgeous Crazy Fingres with nice vocals from Barraco, UJB was great and had an amazing jam, my eyes were closed for a good chunk of it, then the Stella Blue- instrumental beautifulness. Jimmy's guitar was positively lyrical, and I almost walked out afterward, wanting to end the show on such a positive, perfectly beautiful note and knowing tha One More Sat. nite was upcoming......

Great solid show all round, the drive home absolute;y sucked messy messy highways.....

The Long- Lashed Pterodactyl, who lived during a time when saw-like arms were needed to survive, is flying away from world of dark clouds and rain into a new world of sunshine and rainbows.
