I think this is fantastic. I think it will go a long way to increasing attentions spans and curbing(some) behavioral problems.

They teach nutrition in school so they shoould do all they can to stand by what they teach by not supplying unhealthy snack's.

I don't think this is taking away from a parents responsibility to feed the children right I think it's setting an example for them, uping the motivation for them to take similar steps.

Many teachers send home list at the beginging of the school year recomending healthy and cost efficiant snacks to send with the children.

Many school in ottawa have made the switch from pizza days to Sub days. Again a helathier choice and setting a better example.

oh I missed being there Sunshine.

So he returned home with onion rings...which despite all my teasing turned out to be a compliment to bacon and eggs...although my arteries may tell another story.

he's off to get the "side dish" now...who knows what he'll bring through the door.

Damn I ment to sneak some after party sandwiches in his bag.

So we decide to have bacon and eggs for diner...a few minutes after the decision-

Dave "hey do you know where that menu from Seasons pizza is?"

Me " I thought we we're makeing bacon and eggs'

Dave "but I was thinking about a side dish"

me - blank stare

Dave " so...what don't you like deep fried"

yup thats the kind of stuff I mean when I said that I know it's hard to let them go to the park alone. It's a friggin shame beacuse like I said it turns childhood into a whole different experience.

I see huge changes in the places and the ways in which kids play nowadays. I can remember going off to the partk for hours at a time, comming home when I was hungry. Now it is rare to see kids at a park without supervision. I know that it's hard, with all the stroies and things you see on T.V to just let kids go off on their own, but I think it severly changes thier way of play when there is a parent around constantly. Adults tend to intereven in every little disbute on the play ground which does'nt help the kids learn to work things out on there own at all. Parents freak out when kids are pushed too fast on the tire swing or hang upside down on the monkey bars, leaviung little room for adventure. Parents also don't have the time to spend all day at the park.
