Hey Jaybone, I found the answer to the B-day tease on Phish.net in the review section for last night:

Then at the end of the 1st set, a group in front me put up a huge sign that said play GOLDEN AGE for my 50th, Trey saw it pointed and showed the other guys and pointed to the sign again several times. So I assume the Happy Birthday teases were for this guy too.

IN, still looking for pavilion tix tho....

Any chance you've got a pair. Just got invited on a bus trip to Darien with a bunch of phans, but I need to score a pair for the wife and I. Ideally we'd like pavilion seats.

You can check out this economical matched pairs of condensers, BEHRINGER C2. I've not used them but they come highly recommended by several friends. Used for everything from toms to acoustic guitar.

If you want multi-pattern wide diaphragm condenser, the APEX 520 is a good inexpensive choice. Again, the feedback I've heard is that people have been pleasantly surprised by the sound of this $200 microphone.

In our mic inventory we have a dozen SM 58's & 57's but only four 414's and just a pair of U87's. That speaks to cost but also to the truly universal application for the good old shure SM 58 & sm 57 duo. A great place to start is a 58 for vocals and a 57 for your amp.

I second the AKG 414 thought. I've used them in all sorts of applications and I've always been happy. I've even preferred them to the U87 in some choral recordings.

U2 will never play Bluesfest, the logistics are impossible.

I went Thursday and it was fantastic. Great snow, virtually no lines for the lift. The drive up was tough tho, as the snow was flyin north of Hwy 9. I've got to wait till the new year to get back to blue (Midweek pass is blacked out over Christmas).

Anyone got any suggestions for other resorts to check out in Southern Ontario?

I'm heading up Thursday morning (12 hours from now). I've got a 5x7 pass and I plan to ski every Monday for the season. Have you got flexible hours? I've been looking for a driving partner... I usually try to leave Brampton about 8:30 and head straight up Airport Rd. Let me know if you're interested.
