Just listened to it, great show (but I almost always say that). Second set is killer...

We have a Gamelan at York University although I've never seen it played.
Apparently, its considered a single instrument even though it has multiple players.

Not volunteering, but working as the head electrician (stage lighting) again. Wouldn't miss it.

This photo is by Larence N. Shustak (1926-2003). Heres a link to his ill maintained gallery. http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~stuartpage/pics/shustak/Jazz/

I like this album. To me it sounds like a more mature album, both lyrically and musically. I also feel very aware of each member’s individual contribution. I’ve always had a sense there was a difference between Jeff and Mike’s tunes, but it’s even more apparent on this album. The production is also different. I believe Jeremy recorded and mixed it. It sounds more low-fi / indie; which I believe was intentional (contrast this to Ben Kaplan’s fat studio sound on Orange Shag Carpet).
It’s different from previous albums, as any band that’s been around this long has to be. Enjoy it, it captures a particular moment in time for Burt Neilson.

Santana & Stevie Winwood, play Toronto on July 11, could be a Bluesfest possibility.

Ah, the days of my youth. I was a hardcore jungalist 94-96. Hooked up with Alx Clive and worked ad the lighting designer on his Chemistry Raves. Remember 318 Richmond St? NYE 96 with the simulcast from London... Good times. Still love me some breakbeat.
