  1. Phunky Cauldron, I think the case you're refering to may actually be one that's a few years old. A couple years back a woman was gang raped and got pregnant. They never punished any of the men, but she was stoned to death shortly after weening her child as well. So somehow SHE'S the dirty one, like she really wanted to get raped, way deep down in side... that crap makes me sick. And unfortunately I know of echoes of that type of thought in our own cultures.... a woman I know, she was raped at a party when she was about 16 (so this is about 13 years ago) she actually pressed charges, went to court... in the courtroom the judge called her up to his bench, he then proceded to draw a circle on a slip of paper, put his hand on the corner and slid the paper back and forth on the surface of the bench, challening her to try and "stick her finger in that".

That really sickens me that someone like that could have had the power of determining justice.

  2. I like the fact that this is probably the only place I'd be able to find the type of people I could jump into a car with (last minute plans of course), having never met the person before and have no worries about lasting a 7 hour car ride with them, two ways. Justin, you're a total riot. Thanks again.

  3. I throughly enjoy the Sanc, I like how easy it is for me to find out about shows that I'd never have heard of anywhere else. I've lived in ottawa (most of) my entire life, and it wasn't until this summer that I began to hear about 'the scene' or start going to shows. Which brings me to the added part of the question, Canned Beats told me about the sanc in May after The New Deal show during the Tulip Festival, then later that week I headed out to my first CTMF. After that week I signed up. Oh ya, and I love meeting the people involved here, great people to hang out with.

  4. I still have most, about 90%, of the dolls and stuffed animals that I've gotten over the years, including the doll that I got from my cousin when I was born (she gave me her favourite doll, how cute is that?). I don't sleep with that one because it's so old now I'm afraid it will fall apart, but I do sleep with an old teddy bear.

  5. Mexperiences completely go against removing batteries from CARRY-ON luggage.

In february I went to Chicago for a bit of a break, and as I was going through O'Hare security I was asked if I had any electronics in my carry on. I pulled out my discman and I guess while it had been in my bag the play button was hit because it was half way through the 3rd or 4th song. I made some comment about "Oh, it's on" and the security guard, a nice woman, said that that was actually a good thing, because they were supposed to ask all travellers to turn on any electronics, be it a camera, a discman, or even a cell phone (which I also had on me). If they don't power up when asked to, the woman told me that they were then taken for "examination". Something about being checked for bombs or the like hidden in electronics. This is just carry on luggage though, because I had a camera in my checked luggage, and not a peep was made about it.
