  2. well, used to be a teacher for a year or so....but i lack the responsibilty at this point in my life...at least that's what i like to think anyway.....now, just a waitress at a scuzy truck stop serving meat and potatoes! heh.it pays the bills....i got a new job come january! yeah!!!!

    horsey jumper by day!!

  3. chris and i met at work and i deceided to tour with him and a friend one summer and the rest there is history too!! we share alot of interests, music along with everything else. nothing else is interesting.......we do everything together!

hey!!!???? backbacon!!! who is your girlfriend. i ride horses too!! does she compete?? just curious, i find it hard to mix music and horses sometimes....especially in the summer!

  4. hello! fortunately we are heading to NYC for phish on new years, and i booked a hostel for the 31st months ago.

we deceided that we wanted to see a bit of new york, so we booked bus tickets for the nite of the 29th through the 30th, and i just tried to book a hostel for the nite of the 30th with NO luck anywhere in the city. anyone have any extra space or brilliant ideas. i guess i learned my lesson.....book accomodations before transportation......but i usually don't have that problem being a proud tent/bus owner! thanks!!! 5. I just picked up, R L Burnsides album come on in as a present for someone, and ended up opening it for myself. ( feel really bad) But its amazing! just wondering if anyone else has herd of him, and if so if they could direct me to another good rl cd..

  6. ok, i have given it a few listens at this point and i am going to say that my favorite song off the album is the title track....round room is dancy, fun and it's super nice to hear mike singing, his voice really suits the song - the lyrics are also interesting. also potential for some good jams. i am hoping to hear this one on new years.

a close second is mexican cousin probably cause chris goes around the house singing his version "oh BEER.....i turn to you like a long lost friend"

anyway, this will prbably all change tomorrow after a few more listens!! i'll let you know! [Wink]

  7. i think we are pretty prepared to give it a shot brad!! but i'll let you know if we decide to opt out! mind you there are LOTS of things to do in NYC incase we don't get in!!

speaking of getting down there......we recently deceided that instead of driving down to jersey and then taking a train in, we would rather bus/train it all the way down.....anyone done this before???

  8. i just want to thank everyone who read my post and gave me some ideas, some of which i have already thought about and will consider in more depth, and other ideas that never even came to mind.

west coast cully-who know who this is........it's amanda!!!

right now i guess i will just get ready for auburn hills and nye at msg, and then i will give it some more thought!!!!!

thanks again guys, there is a good group of people here with some great ideas brewing! [Wink]

i sort of looked into that program briefly earlier today. i have been sulking infront of the internet all day trying to find programs of interest to me.........i don't even know where to start with questions for you. what kind of jobs do people get with such a degree i guess would be my main one??? you can reply to me at phishin4mango@yahoo.ca

that would be great!!!! i am going to the ryerson home page right now!

  10. so here i am, 27 years old, three university degrees in hand, waitressing for the past 3 years and not happy. HUGE debt load from school, trying to pay that off so i can go and live in the bush and try and lead a sustainable lifestyle.........hmmmmmmm somthing wrong here.can't find a career i like, debating going back to school - but for what???? i have a degree in Outdoor Recreation, Parks and Tourism, one in Geography and my Teaching Certificate. (Tried teaching for a year and hated it!!!) Love the outdoors, passion for the environment..............anyone have any ideas or advice............what does everyone else here do for a living) i know this has been asked before, but, i need a refresher!) [Frown] any advice is welcome at this point [Roll Eyes]

  11. i think that this is a great idea too....every time i give to a charity it always seems to be to the humane society, (i have a huge weakness for animals) or else to a food bank. i just read burtman's post below, regarding charities, and what if some of us donated a bit of time at some of the shows this festive season to collect for local food banks. i know i would be willing to find a few empty boxes and collect donations at the door or something, and then deliver them to a food bank..anyone else in???? i guess i gotta figure out what shows i am going to........

  13. as the festive season approaches, wouldn't it be nice to share some friendliness and warm thoughts amongst other sanctuarians?? why not participate in a gift exchange/secret santa here on jambands.ca?? if you would like to be part of this gift exchange, simply e-mail your name, address and sanctuary name to sanctuary@jambands.ca by December 1st. at this point all names will be put in a hat and you will be sent an email with the person whom you are the secret santa for.

    Rules:

*gifts to be in the $15.00 range, and can be homemade, purchased or anything else in good taste ex, cd's, art, jewellery etc etc etc

*try and make sure you send your gift out in time for christmas

*make sure you send a gift out!!!! remember we have a list of who you are the secret santa for!

*have fun with it in cavern, try and secretly find out what the person you are buying for likes and might appreciate!
