  1. I imagine some people find the idea depressing, others may keep it their little secret, but I think there's something really satisfying about taking yourself out for a bite every now and then. I get to combine two of my favorite pastimes - peoplewatching and eating - or maybe just settle in with a book or a newspaper section.

This Globe & Mail article from the weekend got me thinking about it.

  2. well, I can't think of too may bonus ideas for the prosciutto but fuck may I say it's freakin' delicious?!?!?

I always use it in a muffaletta sandwich. Also an A+ addition to your otherwise average grilled cheese sandwich.

    Pig = God.

  3. Yeah I go around the 15% - 20% area - to be honest it sometimes depends on what the total was relative to the denomination of bills/change I have on me - but I always tend to leave a couple of dollars more than I think I should have to.

Here's another scenario - what do you do when you are dining out with a friend or two and they leave their portion of the bill + tip..... but you realize they are being very cheap on their portion of the tip?

  4. Well, what's the consensus?

Any cheapskates still figuring 10% is enough of a tip?

Would you agree it's more in the 15% - 20% range these days?

    Before or after taxes?

Ever have a place add the tip onto your bill for you? How did you feel about that?

Ever left NO tip? Ever left an absolutely amazing tip?

Do you tip at take-out places? What about chain fast food places?

    etc etc.

  5. that video was freakin' GOLD! That tune is already burned into my soul.

Having said that' date=' Ferrel's never made a movie I wasn't willing to wait for the DVD to come out and here's another one.

Looking forward to eventually checking this out.[/quote']

What was your thoughts on Stranger than Fiction?

I've yet to see it - haven't been avoiding it, just haven't got around to it. Definitely will at some point though!

"Love Me Sexy" is the best song I've heard yet this year.

  6. Discreet Music, Before & After Science, Another Green World, Music For Airports, Music For Films, Apollo, Thursday Afternoon, On Land = all of these are AWESOME!

On Land is particularly creepy. Apollo has some cool pedal steel courtesy of Daniel Lanois.

Brian Eno is awesome. He's incredibly important.
