  1. That, coincidentally was the show where some guy accused me of stealing his sandals (Which maybe I did, but I don't think so, considering I wasn't wearing them when he approached me). I GUESS it's POSSIBLE that I took them and lost them, but like I said, I was spun-out-steve then so who really knows?

    Hahahahahaaaaaa!!!! Hahahahahahahahaaa!!! :: :: ::

When the torrential downpour started at Bonnaroo, some guy came whizzing by and grabbed my sandals that I had stashed under the van. He took off bolting through the rain. Carp hopped out of the car and gave chase. Hilarious man! The two of them were slip-sliding up the road/stream. When Carp finally caught up with the guy and gave him the usual "what-the-fu©k" spiel, the guy claimed that he thought they were his (ladies sandals?). He was also in spun-out mode. I hope that was you Steve. That'd be too funny!

  2. can't wait ot bump into you good kids soon . Dickey maybe ???

See you there brotha! Although it'll be a cheap night for this kid...seems that I spent all of my cash trying to look "business". :o Ya fu©k!

So what's the deal...should we Grand Hotel it or no?

  3. Rama is just outside of Orillia. If you folks are coming up, let me know. Plenty of tent space available.

StoneMtn, perhaps we can go to The First after all. You won't believe what you've been missing all these years. Ha ha ha! :)

As far as I know, there are no "Texas Hold 'em rooms". I try to avoid that place if at all possible. Haven't even seen a show there (even though I'm in Orillia). :( I think Steppenwolf is playing there sometime soon too.

  4. The 6 discs that were in the carpool CD player this morning:

Beck-Guero (funky, happy Beck is back!)

    The Slip-2/7/99 (my first show...yay)

Jill Barber-Oh Heart (Leonard Cohen, if he was a chick)

Joel Plaskett-La De Da (can't get enough of Truth Be Told, I love it)

Bonnaroo Vol. 2 (Awesome Keller Williams here)

Primus-Back in the Madhouse (for when I need Les's bass to keep me awake) ;)

  5. Steve,

Sorry to hear that Jack wasn't doing it for you live. I know exactly what you mean about the live experience not having much "energy". I think that's more his style of music than anything. Especially when he's double billed with the likes of Ben Harper for the fabulous G. Love. Those guys get into it! I love his stuff, but it makes for a mellow show (or a drunk one where I'm running around socializing and the music becomes almost secondary). I love his new vid though...awesome!

As for the crowd, we stand a little bit closer in Canada. As far as the wardrobe goes, I think you now get American Eagle loyalty cards with your ticket purchase. ;)

  6. Is it just me or do you people also have a hard time understanding him when he talks while being crunked?

Ha ha ha!!! Believe it or not, the Studog was totally coherent Saturday night. I doubt I can say the same for myself though. Those brownies killed me Pikey!

Thanks for dragging me to that shite bar Stu! Ya dirty.

Almost forgot...Seems that my pockets left London $340 lighter. :: I don't know what happened, but I lost a mitt-full of cash and my office's lottery tickets. Ooops! Now we'll probably win. :: Ha! I'm blaming it on the gin.

  7. Silica gel is awesome for strengthening nails (and hair). It may take a while to notice, but if you take it every day you'll solve the problem. It comes in liquid and capsules. I throw 1 Tbsp in my shake every morning. The Naka brand is the best.

    Avoid dishes too! ;)

  8. Meggo,

I checked out the site for a few seconds (literally) and didn't see the list of ingredients. I noticed that it is an American product. The fact that Health Canada even allows it in the country is a good sign.

Amino acids (such as L-Tyrosine, 5-HTP, GABA & arginine) can be extremely beneficial in dealing with depression brought on by stress, anxiety and the complexity of everyday life. Tyrosine is especially helpful with sleeping disorders as well. Your friend is definitely doing the right thing by trying to avoid Paxill and other such drugs. As long as he has a trusting relationship with his doctor, I wouldn't worry too much. It's nice to hear that there are those in the medical profession who aren't overly eager to prescribe pharmaceuticals.

The one thing I would suggest is to ensure that he is properly diagnosed. There is a major difference between depression and manic depression. While natural alternatives are a safer way to go, using the wrong supplement (or "blanket" suplement) can have adverse effects. These "amazing results" you mentioned do make me skeptical as well. I've been reading a lot about the liver lately (gotta brush up on that old thing from time to time). Your liver has the ability to take the amino acids that you have an excess of and convert them in to some (not all) aminos that are depleted. Isn't that awesome? If he eats properly and takes care of his insides he'll be a big step ahead of the game. Eating things like kamut (alternative grain made into breads, cereals, etc.) is a good idea. It contains all 8 essential amino acids.

Asparagus, I'd love to hear you spout science as well.

  9. not that it's a remedy or anything, but has anyone ever tried cayenne in lemonade?

Cayenne is one of the best things to stop an infection/cold. But is usually has to be taken at the beginning. :(

My Mom boils red wine and then puts a towel over my head and makes me inhale it until it's cool (KFC commercial like). It makes you buzzy as all hell, but it works. Eucalyptus is also good to clear your head (if you have to drive or operate machinery).

Garlic, garlic, garlic. If you don't want to stink, drink a glass of orange juice after. If your hands smell, rub them against a stainless steel sink. If you go with capsules, try to find Allimax. They are 100% allicin (veg caps too...woo hoo)...very high powered! And you only need one a day. :D

    For sore throats:

Albi makes Kama CAZE's that are awesome. It says to only take 3 a day, but (as Guigsy will attest to) you can take 3 at once if you want.

Citrinacea is like NeoCitran, but with echinacea and no added junk. (You shouldn't take echinacea or goldenseal if you are allergic to ragweed...also not more than 7 days).

Eat lots of real yogurt (or take acidophilus capsules) if you are taking anything to kill bacteria or viruses. The good bacteria in yogurt will help to replenish your intestinal flora, getting you feeling better quicker.

The all-time best infection fighter is EchinaSeal by St. Francis herb farm. It's a tincture and tastes like absolute sh!t, but it works. It has cayenne, propolis and wild indigo to give the echinacea/goldenseal a boost.

If you're just starting to get the flu, try Oscillicoccinum by Boiron homeopathics.

Okay, I think that's it for my alternative recommendations. Like has been mentioned before, SLEEP AS MUCH AS YOU CAN and don't forget to wash your hands constantly. A cold usually lasts up to 10 days. Beyond that, go get checked out. A friend of mine at work got pneumonia over the holidays, which turned into septic shock/liver & kidney failure. He nearly died and he's a healthy 35 year old. Take care of yourself!

Get a new toothbrush or store it in grapefruit seed extract as old brushes commonly reinfect people a few weeks after their initial cold.

    I hope you're feeling better soon! :)

    Oh, weird trivia:

At the end of the shower, turn the cold water on for a few minutes. That icy blast will help boost your immune system.

Colds are highly contageous the first 5 days.
