  1. Yes, the magazine is still published, and I'm happy to say that I got the most recent copy in the mail and Diesel Dog's song Animator is included on the disc that comes with the magazine. It's great to see them getting positive recognition for their music!

I know that Chapters in Kitchener has carried copies of Relix in the past, but I'm not sure if this is still the case as I haven't been there in a while. Encore Records on Queen St. in Kitchener still exists and I'm guessing they still carry copies as well.

    Peace, Mark

  2. Thanks for the happy birthday wishes! Forty-five ... holy sh*t ... where does the time go?!?

This year’s birthday run was a bit of a long strange trip as it was filled with lots of personal reflection and self-doubt. Not a fun trip, that’s for sure, but still a good one as I’ve come out of it even more determined to focus on the things that really matter to me … staying healthy, being a loving husband and a caring father, appreciating my family and friends, creating and enjoying music, teaching, learning, sharing positive energy and being honest. OK, so nothing has really changed after all! :) Once again, I feel fortunate and lucky.

    Peace, Mark

  4. It's not his birthday... your wii is fucked.

I must have missed this the first time around. That will happen when reading on a sleepless Sunday morning.

    Happy birday Hal Johnson!

Has this not happened before re: Schwa's birthday? When the heck is Schwa's birthday anyway?!?

    Peace, Mark

  5. What a fantastic weekend ... great music, wonderful people ... I had a blast! I really enjoyed many of the acts that I heard over the course of the weekend, with my absolute highlights being the sets by Professor Louie & The Crowmatix, Mark Wilson & The Way It Is and Diesel Dog on Saturday night, and Envelope 3 (Dave Lauzon) on Sunday night ... so glad I decided to stick around for that! (Thanks mousepad for letting me pressure you into sticking around on Sunday night!)

It was also a treat playing with the Chris Mulligan Band on Satuday afternoon, as it gave us a chance to break out a bunch of new songs that we've been working on.

Once again I feel fortunate to be a part of such an awesome community of music-loving friends.

    Peace, Mark

  6. The long weekend is almost here! Note that there is a slight change to the at-the-gate pricing for people coming for the whole weekend. As per the web site, it's $80 (not $75) like I previously posted. The one day/night price is still the same though ... $40.

"If you haven’t picked up an invitation to the festival, you can still get one at the gate. At-the-gate prices are $80 for the whole weekend, $65 for any 2 nights, and $40 for any one night."

    Peace, Mark
