  1. she's a 70s r&b version of lil' kim.

    dirrrrrty jams, occasionally interesting.

    Who's Mille Jackson?

I've never heard her stuff but her album covers are ridculous.

I think she's a 70's soul singer who talks alot of Jive but I could be wrong.

  2. You gonna be home wednesday evening? If your not doing anything maybe I'll come by after work, with a little 'cracker'.

    i love crackers!

i should be home, i'll drop you a line wednersday during the day.

  3. the duo?

    rump-shaking grooves.

    friday was great.

missed the something somethings entirely to stay at contact.

they were excellent, and i was smashed.

the "space-ape>accelerate" seemed to go forever, id guess at least a 40 minute jam, but then, i was kinda smashed.

oh, and add to the above list...

    dec 3 diesel dog/the meat.

    see ya soon.

  4. the following shows.....

    deac 4 MMW

    dec 4 late Benevento/russo duo

    dec 9 vorcza trio.

dec 10 new deal ( although is nero in Ham that night?)

    dec 17 Fat Cats

    will all be great.

will you be able to escape from beneath that rock youve been hiding under for long enough to see any of these?

    ;)

  5. good fun last night.

vanderpark were quite good, and brought out a lot of people with them. good, tight band, vocals not always too well suited to the songs they were playing, but good. closed with a great tune, called something like "all the hands" (i forget stuff)

jomomma were great. excluding the show at the horseshoe they played this summer, best ive seen em in 04. guitar/bass interplay really nice with fantastic jams. these guys have nailed it this year, imo.

    now, slowcoaster.

i thought they were good. i really did. very versatile players, although schizophrenically erratic at times. great sections followed by equally great sections, but not always sounding like the right segues, i guess.

my problem with their performance is similar to the gig that Wassabi played at the Green Party event at the elmo on June 25th. wassabi played a killer set, but as the openers, so that anyone who played after them (im looking at you, intergalactic faerie funk) seemed kinda second rate. the same fate befell slowcoaster last night. they played a good show, but it didnt feel right for them to follow jomomma. now, i know it was slowcoasters cd release, but after jomomma, it just didnt totally do it for me. if slowcoaster really wanted to close, they shoulda booked the show with vanderpark and cavern, or something, to justify the closing slot.

theyre good, but not jomomma-good, again imo.

still, they were really good, very talented players, and i'll definitely go see em again when the opportunity presents itself.

good group of folks out last night, nice to see board folks from yesterday and today. tonyrage, frescolopez, PoGuy and PoGirl, basher, stonedphillips, others my drunken brain may have forgotten, it was lovely to see you all, too bad a few of you had to leave much too soon.

    wow, i talk too much.

    bye.

  6. DRAG!!

    thats a real shame.

and, shain, i second that, im glad i was one of the 10 or so folks who showed up at the 360, that was great fun.

although, shouldnt it be "sparsely attended"?

    ;)

hope you are well, and that Leeds is treating you well.

send me an email sometime, ive tried sending you a few emails that just bounce back.

had the same problem with my brother, and as soon as i responded to an email from him, everything worked fine.

    damn Yahoo!

    cheers,

    dave o'slippery
