  1. hahahahah!as well as knowledge of music and travelling. My vote's Lazlo.

It's not Lazlo. The guy rarely if ever leaves Hamilton. The last time he left Hamilton, that I know of, he pissed himself and had to call his parents to pick him up. There's no way Lazlo could come up with something like this.

  2. Great show Sat night! Pepper Jack’s was hopping… Very few people that I recognized and I don’t think there was one person from the board other thn staff. Sorry if I missed anyone. There’s a pretty decent reggae scene developing around here and I hope a few more people pick up on it. We’ll be headlining the Casbah for NYE with h.E.A.T and Dodger. It’s going to be a huge show with each band capable of filling the room. We feel honoured to be a part of such a great event. I’ll have more info soon in case anyone is interested.

  3. Thanks for all the well wishes. I get more and more excited as the days go by.

    Nice! Congratulations!
Burd said he has developed similar sites in other cities that include Oakville, Ottawa and Montreal.

    What's the Ottawa site?

    Aloha,

    Brad

That was one of two misquotes. Burd has only developed residential in these areas. I’m designing the site with Burd’s architect.

On the optimistic side, an advantage to setting this up in Welland is the idea that it could become *the thing* to do in the city. There are very alternatives for live music in Welland and the surrounding area, so this place could be *it* as far as live music venues.

    Good luck with this Brian!

    Peace, Mark

That’s one of our angles and Chameleon is right about the changing demographics.

NIce! Welland needs a venue like this.

My grandmother lives in Welland and the town is changing slowly from a retirement haven to a younger population. You're timing may be perfect and rents in Welland are cheaper I hear too.

All the best, Southern Ontario needs more quality venues.

    Good work.

Welland is a small city - I almost feel awkward calling it a city. It has a very central location and we’ll be advertising towards the 2 million people that live within 30 minutes of the venue. I’m also designing the venue to accommodate many different configurations that include theatre, concert hall, and cabaret. We’ll be able to host theatre groups, seminars, corporate functions, etc. There will also be a smaller section of the venue with a club/restaurant vibe and bar bands. We’re going to generate revenue anyway we can on our dark days. I’d be foolish if I wasn’t a bit sceptical but at the end of the day I feel pretty good about everything. I’ve seen a lot of music venues come and go and I’m going to give this one everything I have. I think we’ll be able to keep the place going.

    Cheers

  4. I know there's a few of you that always show

your support but I think I'm wasting my time

with the rest of you. :)

I don't think there's many reggae fans from the

Hamilton area on this board. We're pretty darn

good and I recommend checking us out someday.

Riddim Riders play a mix of originals and

classics from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Many

Jamaican standards, some that people will

recognize right away, and others that only long

time reggae fans will know. Focus is on tunes

with conscious, spiritual lyrics and vibes. Heavy

    dub breaks included.

  5. I even told MarcO I would put him on the guest list and he still won't come. Oh well. Yeah there isn;t as much hype when you take Herring and the Col. out of the line up. I'm personally looking forward to Bobby having more time to rip solos. The guy is a master of the guitar

  6. snowed in Hamilton yesterday. It's raining a bit right now.

Always find it amazing how the weather between the escarpment and downtown can be so different' date=' yesterday I didn't see any snow up here while I was outside taking down the canopy and winterizing the back yard, today, I haven't seen rain, but its snowing now.

    [/quote']

Snowing downtown now. The snow flakes were huge a few minutes ago.

Am I going to see you later?

  7. I believe Marky was the last one to book them in Toronto. I've been trying to get them in Hamilton for about 6 years now. They don't even return my calls. I've promoted enough shows with their agency to deserve a call back. I don't get it - any other band and they get back to me right away. I will book moe. anywhere in southern Ontario if they call me back.

  8. (I'm assuming it will also be an earlier ending to the evening)... midnightish?

That's correct. It'll be great to see you guys.

(the lucky winners of the tickets on Halloween night)

Cool ... had no idea there were CodeTalker ticket prizes. Glad i have people to handle this stuff for me. ;)
