Sports News Nerd - "And boom goes the dynamite!"
"On March 22, freshman Brian Collins anchored a sportscast on NewsLink@9, a student-run broadcast service on campus. Only a few moments into his segment, Collins began to stumble. The rest is Internet lore."

You were there Mike? Oh man.... all I (barely) remember are the bugs from that night and some Absinthe of some sort. I'm really looking forward to this year! You goin Mary?
yes! It is a very fond memory with our old friend Chris Hood too. I remember that the day was GORGEOUS and we took the ferry while drinking some fruity boozy drinks on the way over. We met #1 Burt fan "Jared" on the ferry and he managed to make Hood feel old. He was only about 24 at the time and got called 'old man' by that jared kid. Funny stuff.
I remember also' date=' later in the evening the rave in the barn. That is probably all I can recall [/quote']
Jeff - I'll be there... looking forward to it - - love the line-up. I remember the absinthe too... I believe Mitch & Jeffrey were responsible for that? And ultimately I think that was what was responsible for Mitch puking in my tent.
Mike - I remember that barn rave they had that night... I seem to recall Dan Ackroyd stumbling around it too. It was a beautiful weekend - stunning weather... and no sleep for me, I think we took the ferry across and heckled runners in a marathon at some point on day 2. As for Jared from the ferry - I'm pretty much 100% that was my friend Lowell's little brother. They were I think 16 or 17 at the time...

Sadly not oringal line-up last night... but he did reference that Bands Reunited episode in his banter... old grudges not yet mended apparently.
-
It was pretty light - - bass, guitar, keys, drums (w/ vocals from all but bassist). High energy output though.

Went & saw The English Beat last night @ Horeshoe... fun times!!!
Dave Wakeling was in top form, cheery (sometimes cheesy)... belting out the tunes. The crowd was diverse - a complete cross section of all those 80s influenced. There were those there to wax nostalgic for SURE. All the ladies in the front were mooning for their former heart-throb.
Highlights were Rough Rider, Twist & Crawl and of course Mirror in the Bathroom. Added benefit would have been a full horn section, but it wasn't to be.
I'm pretty sure it was their only Canadian date, and the tics were quite pricy, but it was just one of those things that needed to be done.

Wow, I didn't realize it was the anniversary today... I'm glad I was enjoying some reggae at midnight...
For those who haven't been - - School of Roots every Tuesday night @ Orbit Room is a complete gem... I used to go religiously and somehow it fell of my radar... excellent reggae band... a summer-time must if you live in the city!!!
-
Hey Can O' Phish... that was some solid playing indeed.. now that the weather's nice again I agree the Orbit Room will be bustling. Do you know if start times are going to stay early through the summer? Kevin was a maniac on Monday - loved it.
Besides the Band & Prince, has he played anything else from the book? Any idea what other treats are in there?
-
Agreed -- saw these fellas last Friday night w/ From Fiction and really enjoyed it. Thumbs up indeed! I highly recommend checking them out.

I'll be there... heading out shortly!!!
Can't wait...

Make sure to check out the Russian Futurists as well. They're opening... featuring Scotty Farmer (formerly of BNB) on keys. Matt Hart (the man behind the machine!) and he are cousins. See if you can spot the resemblence! The RFs just got back from 5 weeks of touring Spain / Italy... and they're now starting off a monster tour of N.America w/ Caribou.
Caribou puts on an execellent show... likely be treated to some beauty backdrop imagery!!
Enjoy...

Paisley was that the night that you woke up the next morning on my kitchen floor w/ cracked ribs?? Hysterical. I seem to recall that the Allmans are always a bit of a piss-up.
Looking forward to this year!
