h
Tom Waits makes chart splash in Canada By JOHN SAKAMOTO Jam! Music Proving again that Canadians have an affinity for professional oddballs, music consumers in this country snapped up a total of more than 10,000 copies of two new albums by gravel-voiced singer-songwriter Tom Waits last week. According to data provided by SoundScan Canada, "Alice" and "Blood Money" sold just over 5,000 copies each, good enough for No. 13 and No. 14 debuts, respectively. The combined sales would have been enough to land Waits in the top 5. In the U.S., "Blood Money" and "Alice" entered at No. 32 and 33, respectively. Jaimoe
I'd say that these music consumers have damned good taste.
Asparagus
I would agree. Both albums are worth picking up.
Schwa.
I can't get past his voice. Hard to like for any period of time. (30 seconds or more) Lyrics, if i recall were profound at times, but that voice.......its like the exact opposite, equally as annoying sound of fingernails on a chalkboad. Venting tonight.....i'll be ok in the morning.
