First off, Tortoise is playing at the Phoenix as part of the Exclaim! party. I love their records but I've seen them live a few times. Second, Andre Ethier, singer of Toronto's Deadly Snakes is playing a show at the Silver Dollar. His solo record sounds like early Tom Waits, mid-60s Dylan, early Randy Newman, etc. Amazing songwriter and a great voice too. I hate when two good shows are going on at the same time.
