PassedOutGuy
Im open to all forms actually Steve, ive been getting very differnet styles so far from fusion to traditional... i tend to stay away from the vocal stylings though...and am partial to guitar, piano and sax... im basically looking for easily accessible dl's in either bt, snh or flac... Thanks Steve...

Thanks Steve... It's not a download, but a fun record is "Kenny Burrell & John Coltrane". It's from the same era as "Kind Of Blue", and features Burrell (guitar), Coltrane (tenor sax), Paul Chambers (bass), Jimmy Cobb (drums), and Tommy Flannagan (piano). It doesn't necessarily break new ground (as KoB did), but the record's a gas from end to end. There's also a sax/guitar (only) duet that's a delight to listen to. secondtube
well, other than for STG, i'm not familiar with any downloading sites for jazz, at least not in mp3 format. Sooooo, maybe send me a package of blanks (5-10-15, whatever), with a list of what you HAVE, and what approx your looking for, and maybe what your NOT looking for, i'll happily fill those discs with some sweet sounding jazz. Here's some thoughts off the top of my head (also, peering through my 'most listened to jazz book') The Guitar Trio (mclaughlin, di moela, de lucia): THis is my favorite jazz to listen to right now. Its pure magic. the 87 Big Band Dizzy Galespie is mind blowing. Best sounding jazz recording i own. (although it may be released officially, it seems to be freely traded?) weather report / return to forever: both bands blow my mind, esp RtF. I have a bunch by these bands, and nothing is weak. Shorter, Hancock, Clarke, Hakim from 1991. So sweet and smoothe. Pharoah Sanders w/ Zakir Hussain. Mind blowing. Dont know what else to say. Metheny Trio w/ Holland and DeJohnette. I get a hard on just thinking about this trio! Or the Metheny Rollins 'Dream Team' stuff....also hard not to like! (btw, this offer is OPEN TO ANYONE, you want some jazz, I GOT IT!)
