Jay Funk Dawg
Hey folks, look how EVOLVE is getting respect across the boarder! www.relix.com/evolve Evolve Brings the Bonnaroo Spirit up North Spearhead will headline the fifth annual Evolve Festival. Located on the 225-acre Ocean Playground in Sunflower Valley, Nova Scotia, Evolve is Canada's largest jamband gathering, featuring over 200 artists drawn from folk, jazz, funk, electronica, hip-hop, blues, rock, bluegrass and world music. Taking place from August 27-29 in Antigonish, NS, Evolve will place some of Canada's most notable performers alongside several American imports. Evolve 5 will also be the largest "green" festival in Atlantic Canada, boasting generators running on bio-diesel fuel, an on-site recycling/composting program and demonstrations of new forms of renewable and alternative energy sources. An independent film series, a kid's zone, 50 workshops and activities in the Awareness Village will complement the weekend's musical offerings. Drawing from Canada's native talent, Evolve will also welcome The Trews, whose hit single "Not Ready to Go" is currently moving its way up the Canadian charts. The Rheostatics, Grand Theft Bus and two-time ECMA winners The Jimmy Swift Band also highlight Evolve's lineup. Vermont's Vorcza Trio, which features Ray Paczkowski of The Trey Anastasio Band and Dave Matthews and Friends fame, will also make a trip up North for Evolve. Headlining the three-day festival's DJ stage is Doc Martin, a San Francisco DJ/Producer and bass-nymphomaniac. Lorin Bassnectar, know for his collaborations and remix work with Spearhead and The String Cheese Incident, will be on hand to help blend these genres together. This is definitely boast-worthy. I`ve been hearing a lot about The Trews lately as well.. Has anyone on here heard much of them before?
