StoneMtn
As I am sure most of you are aware, the amazing New York-state-based jamband, God Street Wine, broke up about five years ago. I think they became a band called the Pancake Boys (or at least most of them did). Being an eastern-sorta-thing, does anyone know if the Pancake Boys still exist? Are they any good? (I seemed to hear about them shortly after the breakup of GSW, and then they disappeared.)
Patchoulia
Last I heard, The Pancake Party Boys were backing Mary McBride...not sure if that's current info, though. Lo Faber formed the Lo Faber Band after GSW, playing with former members of the Ominous Seapods. Now some of those members perform as Raisinhead. StoneMtn
Cool! Thanks, Stoned Phillips. I have been missing GSW, as of late, and that gives me some more music to dig up. Very kind of you.
Patchoulia
No problem! I'm a big fan of the entire progression of bands I noted above...in fact, I just picked up an old GSW cd at the used record store the other day. In an unrelated revelation, you know you watch too much Law & Order when "GSW" is intrinsically understood in your own mind as the acronym for "Gun Shot Wound"... StoneMtn
There's no such thing as watching too much Law and Order!

TimmyB
I have no idea what happened to this band, but I did enjoy God Street Wine as an opener to the Black Crowes back in 1996. After seeing them I picked up their album "red" which was released the same year on Mercury. It's a pretty decent record with huge diversity in style and sound. StoneMtn
Yup. I think that is my favourite of their discs. Either that, or their much-later self-titled "God Street Wine". Well, maybe "1.99 Romances"... Okay, I just love God Street Wine!
Patchoulia
1.99 is the one I just picked up... I miss these guys, but I miss the Seapods more...probably cuz I only ever saw GSW the once and I saw the Seapods about 25 times. ::
