TheGoodRev
Anybody here into these guys? Intense surfabilly with Mexican wrestler masks. They've toured a lot with the Rev. Horton Heat, they sound similar but I think they're less rooted in punk, more true to pure surf. They're at the Horseshoe on Wednesday night, I think I'm going to go in and catch them as I've never seen them before. They have a ton of mp3 samples on their site http://los.straitjackets.com . Been together ten years and they've done 8 records! Check out the fifth one, "Sing Along With", there's an mp3 sample of their cover of Los Bravos' Black is Black. Also lots of tasty Ventures-esque surf and Buddy Holly rockabilly, minus the sugary-sweet lyrics and melodies (though Buddy Holly is the king and always will be). Anyway tickets are a little steep at $12.50 adv or $15 at the door, but I think I'm going to head over to check them out. Dig it!

Large Marge
I saw these guys the last time they were at the Shoe. AWESOME!!! I laughed, I yee-haw'd, I danced, I rocked! (As are most bands that come with stage-props and dancing girls) - Recommended by the Marginator.
