Phunky Cauldron
hey Phunky - is your PC beeping "strangly" on boot-up (ie: anything other than 1 short beep)? Nope, just the typical beep. Yeah, Tungsten...i'm gonna swap the power supply out of a friends pc just to make sure of that first...thanks !
PassedOutGuy
power supply replaced. No longer overheating. Old power supply had seized fan. PC is no longer doing the beep-shutdown-restart rumba, but I still cannot download. Weirdness. Right-clicking on MP3's or other URL's for "Save as" doesn't work, but left click for direct link causes the MIME table to initiate local associated app - ie - Quicktime Player for MP3. So obviously I CAN download, just not to do save as. Probably need to fix IE install, but CANNOT DOWNLOAD. Will have to source from somewhere's else. Phunky Cauldron
Dang...well replaced the power source and the trouble remains the same. Is there any way of telling if the ole mother board is toast without buying and installing a new one? Like just looking at it perhaps?

weezy
hey phunkyC, check out my first post in this thread about the motherboard shizzizzle. As far as new ones go, the new all-in-one motherboards are cheap and good, but I dunno about the compatability of the external cards though... g'luck! secondtube
great! and it sounds like you didn't do any damage.... You DID WHAT YOU WERE SUPPPOSED TO DO! many people just keep letting their computer shut off, and then restarting it, frying their board/chips/ram/processor etc. Good Job PoG on NOT being lazy!
