I finally agreed to not renew my contract here, meaning that I can return to Montreal in March (got a flight on the 10th), but will continue to work part-time for the UN as a "Fellow" from home. Probably enough pay to cover rent and living costs, etc. and I get to have a chilled summer in Montreal catching up with all the kind folks I've been neglecting for the last 2 years. Planning to start my PhD in September but no news on that yet, either in Toronto (UofT) or Montreal (McGill). Looking forward to seeing you guys (and meeting those I haven't met yet!)... Coincidentally just last night I was actually telling some Blane stories - mainly me bitching about not spending much time in Montreal anymore.
