AdamH
Yet another Breit incarnation, new to me anyway. They're playing at the Hillside festival, and although I've tried to tell all y'all to go the tickets are completely sold out except for Sunday passes.JOHN & THE SISTERSMeet Kevin Breit. An aceguitarist, Kevin was theaccompanist for Norah Jonesand collaborative participantalongside the likes of k.d.lang and Holly Cole. MeetJohn Dickie. With a fullthroatedroar of a voice, Johnhas been dominating theToronto jump blues scene forthe last three decades. PutJohn, Kevin and Kevin’sband The Sisters Euclidtogether, and you’ve got Johnand the Sisters. A wonderfullyoff-the-wall collaborationdescribed as crazycosmic burnin’ blues fromanother planet. Ms.Huxtable
Amazing. Have I mentioned how much I love Kevin Breit?
DevO
The John & The Sisters cd is available on Northern Blues.. Its pretty good, but I think John Dickie is better to be seen live then to listen to on disc. Overall I prefer the Sisters without John, but any incarnation of Breit will do! I got my tickets eh! At the very very last minute too. I went on the Hillside site about a week ago and it told me that Saturday online ticket sales were done for, and that the following morning at 10am the last few Saturday day passes would go up for sale by phone or in person. I was on the horn bright and early and got em. At about 10:20am they were completely sold out of all Saturday tickets. I blame Basher, and Arcade Fire. I bought a Friday evening pass, Saturday day pass and Sunday day pass. $111 bucks later, I'm goin to Hillside!
