StoneMtn
These guys are a folky/rocky/rockabilly/jazzy duo from Texas. The little guy plays a double bass, and the huge guy plays guitar. It looks hilarious, and they play it up.They are not only great musicians, but they essentially have a second career as children's musicians as well. (They play different shows for kids and for adults, and these appear to be adult concerts; although the kids' shows are good too.)You should check these guys out if you're in Ontario. I would, for sure. Here are the dates:8/18 – ThursdayToronto, Ontario, CanadaHugh’s Room(416)531-6604http://m1e.net/c?13502970-cuTS/x5Q12AxQ%401078113-YaT5QPXDVqMVk 8/19 – 8/21Fri-Sat-SunOwen Sound, Ontario, CanadaSummerfolk Music & Crafts Festival(519)371-2995http://m1e.net/c?13502970-p00NF0B6gjb1M%401078114-zl8gmwp6qMa66
d_rawk
Oh, named after Richard Brautigan! Excellent. Best title ever: "The Abortion: An Historical Romance" Don't think I can make it to Toronto or Owen Sound for either of those dates, though. StoneMtn
Nice, d_rawk; you are correct. The name is from the Brautigan novel. These guys are awesome. They've played together for like 30 years.Apart from a litany of beautiful originals, they also do a great "Not Fade Away", and a tear-jerking version of Gordon Lightfoot's "Big Blue".
