bouche
I've got a disc with dv files on it that was taken off of a DV camera onto a mac and then burned onto dvd as files. I assumed that it was a standard format that I could import into a windows video format but I was wrong.Has anyone ever converted MAC .dv files to Windows .dv (avi) files? Is there a way to do it without a mac?

can-o-phish
Bouche, you can download Avids Free DV Xpress and use it to do these conversions. This is the scaled down version of our Picture editing program and will work great for you.Avid Free Edited August 20, 2005 by Guest why do your urls always have an extra http:// in them ??? bouche
hey Brad, googling didn't help, and neither did Videohelp.com I'm downloading this Avid Free thing to see if that'll work. If not, I guess I have to head to the Apple store
can-o-phish
Bouche, once you install Avid, create a session, import your dv files into the session, this may take a while depending on the size of your files. Then export the session and choose the format you wish to export ie QuickTime movie, AVI, MPEG4 etc. You should be good to go. If not, call me at work on Monday and I'll walk you through it.
