I think I'll be all over this. I don't know the full specs, but it will be in at least 5.1. audio. I'm hoping for DTS and an anamorphic film transfer too. Knowing The Who, they'll do it up right.

Disc two features Quadrophenia, from their 1996-97 tour, which marked the first time the work was performed as Townshend and Daltrey had envisioned it.

that quadrophenia tour was my first concert ever.

For some reason, I boycotted the Quadrophenia tour. Oh yeah, now I remember. I thought since they didn't have an new album to promote, I felt that The Who were only in that tour for the money. Which of course was true.

ya, i thought, cool, i'm 17, all my friends are seeing crap bands, and i have a chance to see legends for my first concert.

i wasn't cool enough yet not to see concerts for those reasons....

However in retrospect, I wish had gone to that Quadrophenia concert. I heard it was excellent.

I went to the Tommy '89 concert at the C.N.E. and thought it was great, even though Pete stuck to playing mostly acoustic guitar. I remember at the C.N.E. concert, Pete had a cast on his right hand. The night before in Buffalo, Pete was doing a windmill and the whammy bar on his Strat went through the middle of his hand.

"The three-disc package will include two stage performances as well as never-seen-before footage and exclusive commentary from both singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshend.

The unseen footage will include some material from 1964 of The Who playing at a London pub shortly before releasing their first hit single 'I Can't Explain', which appears as part of a sequence during the 'Quadrophenia' show.

The DVD will showcase a performance of 'Quadrophenia' taken from the band's 1996/7 US tour, and marks the first time the music had been performed as Daltrey and Townshend had originally visualised it with a combination of acting, specially shot film, visuals and audio.

i did the same thing with the Quadrophenia tour - the interview pete did right before saying "we're just in this for the money" didnt help my attitude though i also regretted it later.

i actually never saw them live...
