Tenenbaum
I'm planning on going to graduate school next Sept once I complete my stint up here in Alaska.it appears that the requirement to do an MA (in international development studies) in Canada is to have a BA w/Honours, however all I have is an advanced BA. Just curious to know if anyone here has personal experience in this area and know if there's anyway around this dilemma?mucho gracias
Deeps
Do you know that a an honours BA simply means 4 years in BA studies and has nothing to do with grades? What's an advanced BA?
shainhouse
You need a 4 year BA to apply to grad school in North America. it's different in Europe.
Tenenbaum
an advanced BA typically means I've taken aprox 7-10 courses in the specific major programme; three of these classes beyond the 2000-level.
Tenenbaum
looking back, i guess I should've aimed for the Honours component of my degree (Major in Poli Sci w/Minor in Film Studies). damn, why couldn't Phish have gone on haitus while I was at Univ ;-(
shainhouse
Mag,that varies... many humanities degrees replace the dissertation requirement with 2 or 3 seminars that are easier but just as time consuming. For example, I'm writing a thesis for Multimedia but don't need one for my other major, communications. That one involves 3 seminars.
