Cully Posted November 19, 2005 Report Share Posted November 19, 2005 I saw this on another board:Jerry Garcia movie plannedRock legend Jerry Garcia, frontman for the band Grateful Dead, is set to receive some film treatment after producers revealed there is to be a biopic made about his life. The proposed movie will reportedly focus on the star's recovery from a drug-induced coma and will be produced by Justin Berfield, who appears as Reese in the TV sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. Berfield has apparently optioned two biographies, 'Captain Trips' and 'One More Saturday Night' with his current business partner Jason Felts and the pair are currently in negotiations with the band and Garcia's ex-wife Carolyn to include several of the late rockers favourite songs in the movie. "Jerry's story deserves to be told with colour and sound, and we are going to bring him alive in a movie," Carolyn said. "I'm excited and happy to help it happen, to help reflect Jerry's genius and his generous spirit accurately. There are so many stories to share."
