Jaimoe
Cherry's been way more contraversial and offensive in the past, and last night's Coaches Corner was pretty tame in comparison, particularily because he wasn't calling Russians " pinkos ". He was calling anti-fighting advocates pinkos: http://cbc.ca/clips/rm-lo/coach051210.rmThe fight clip is blacked-out, but if you didn't see the Tucker/Ott fight, here's a little recap: Tucker did surprisingly well against Ott. They fought in front of the Leaf bench and Ponikarovsky was seen flinching throughout the fight. The fight was toe-to-toe, with no holding. I'd call it a surprising draw, although Ott may have landed the harder punches. I thought that Tucker was going to get killed when they dropped the gloves. AD
No, he was referring to Ponikarovski who didn't want to get involved on the bench, whereas Klee was sitting there actually looking interested in the fight. That's how the languange seemed to me. I think Ron McLean took it the same way too. "Now I know why he wears a mask."Oh well. Doesn't matter.AD Edited December 11, 2005 by Guest
