From Terrapin for those that are interested:

Greetings VibeTribe!

It’s with great excitement that we’re able to announce the initial lineup for the Summit on the Sound Music Festival – the final show of Terrapin’s 2003 Summer Concert Series. Headlining at Bridgeport’s Seaside Park, Saturday & Sunday, September 13 & 14, will be Phil Lesh and Friends! Following the amazing performances at last year’s Vibes, we’re thrilled that Phil will be joining us once again.

Phil’s Friends for this unique one-time Summit collaboration will include John Molo, Rob Barraco, and Jimmy Herring, summer Dead collaborator Joan Osborne and jazz master Mr. John Scofield. And if that’s not enough to get you swinging, Branford Marsalis will be joining the band both nights!

I do believe that many of you are familiar with Seaside Park, where Gathering of the Vibes rocked our worlds in 1999 & 2000! Just like the Bridgeport Blues Festival, there will be no camping on-site, but there are tons of kind, inexpensive hotels close by. Check out the hotel page on our web site for discounted hotel info. Make sure you let them know you’re coming to the Summit to take advantage of the great rates!

So we’re all on the same page, our friend Warren Haynes won’t be able to join Phil for this pair of shows as he’ll be out in Colorado on tour with the Allman Brothers Band. But fear not, as Phil & Warren are back together again for the already announced Warfield shows in San Francisco this fall!

Tickets for the Summit on the Sound go on sale to the general public on Monday, June 30th at 10am, but as a special offer to our Terrapin Message Board Family, I’d like to offer you guys the opportunity to save a couple bucks. This Friday, June 27th, registered Terrapin Boardies can purchase a 2-Day Pass to the Summit for $80; $20 off the regular price. To purchase these discounted 2-Day Passes, call Terrapin (866.TERRAPIN) this Friday, June 27th, between 10am and 7pm. Boardies need to be registered by Wednesday June 25th and there’s a 2-ticket limit per user ID.

A point worth noting…in ’99 and ’00 at Seaside Park we basically took over the entire park for the Vibes. This is not the case this year as Bridgeport residents need to have access to their beach. Hence, the total number of tickets available for both Bridgeport Blues Festival and Summit on the Sound are limited and we fully expect both shows to sell out well in advance.
