zero
Just listening to the #17 for the guitar mention at about 17:00ish in. Turns out it was the return to the head of Syncopated Strangers. The quality of these recordings are phenomenal. I am about to hazard a potentially sacreligious remark which is that Umph really do, at least at points, do Phish better than Phish. If anyone could be rightly called Phish 2.0 it is so very Umph. Both Bayliss and Cinninger's playing owe a deep debt to Trey, right down to the tone, effects arrays, precise pre-bends in their playing, the whole kit and caboodle. Really at points you could close your eyes and not be able to tell the difference. Umph benefits from Phish having defined the genre, built the ethos/ pathos and fanbase but there is no doubt that Umph took the baton and ran with it. This coming from someone with a great deal more invested in Phish than Umph.
