In 1962, Warhol began using the silkscreen technique to make paintings - many of which presented serial images of stars such as Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. Also in the early 1960s, Warhol created paintings of disturbing disaster imagery. The polarity within Warhol's imagination that pairs celebrity with tragedy, forms the focus of this exhibition, which showcases several of the artist's rarely-seen early masterworks and films.
