Another thing I've seen some bands do is create a live CD (either a whole show, or selected tracks), emblazoned with "please make copies for your friends", with the live CD given away with the purchase of the/a studio CD.

That is a brilliant idea, I love when I get tasty live stuff handpicked from the band themselves (maybe even a few treats, like favorite inspirational music of the band ie some choice Caution Jam cuts) along with the purchase of the studio tracks. beauty.

Thanks for the tapes bradm. If there's any shows I can hook you up with, I'd like to trade some back to you sometime. I've downloaded MANY of your recordings. I don't tape myself but I got me some funky ass shit.
