Anyone else hip to The Black Keys? I just picked up their latest album Magic Potion and was floored. I have their breakthrough album Thickfreakness from a few years back, but Magic Potion is heavier in the blues and rocks like Led Zeppelin I.

I'm listening to their 2006 EP Chulahoma - their last ever release for Fat Possum. It's a tribute to the late North Mississippi delta great Juniour Kimbrough. It's as dirty as Kimbrough and should smack The North Mississippi Allstars back to North Mississippi Delta training school.

I think you'll like Magic Potion and the Kimbrough albums best of all.

The last track on Chulahoma is actually a taped phone message from Junior Kimbrough's widow to the Keys telling them that she is very proud of them - they are the "about the only ones" that have gotten Junior. Man, I got chills listening to that.
