boogieknight
Anyone have any good suggestions for getting rid of interference from radio waves?Latley, I've been picking up the local country channel in my amps. Doesn't seem to matter which guitar or amp I use. I was thinking maybe a line driver because it gets worse as I add effects into the signal chain. can-o-phish
How old or "used" are your guitar/mic cables that you're using? If the shield has been compromised then this could be where your problem lies...other than it's trouble shooting...
Tungsten Gruvsten
Ferrite Beads on the cables help, both on power and signal cables. even ungrounding one end of the guitar cable can help, especially if you are running a Tele or similar single coil pickups...if it's desperate...Faraday Cage.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday_cage
jonyak
if you are picking up radio on your amp, chances are its not your cables, its either the grounding on your amp or the grounding in your house.worst case is that it is some component in your setup that is doing it. which would mean finding it and replaceing it.any interference will get real bad especially if you throw a bunch of stomp boxes in front of your amp. the best way to do that is to use an effects loop designed to return the signal at the same amplitude back into the amp. every stomp box you put your guitar through degrades the sound and in the electronics world its not an addition thing its a multiplying thing, so not only does it degrade with one stomp box, but each one after that multiplies the one before it. SaggyBalls
My amp came with a lead clamp to loop my speaker cable through.I used to love hearing army broadcasts come through my amp but I can understand how annoying it would be if you're recording quiet layers.wall of sound? could be richer with an obnoxious commercial or two.
