A Site for Upcoming Shows

We all advertise our favs, or talented musicians, for whatever reason. But does anyone know of a good website (sort of like XVI.com for rockers) that advertises/promotes local or Ontario venues?

I will always check this site (because I trust most of you guys) however!

perhaps you'd like to volunteer to keep the show calendar on this site up to date? i know bouche is looking for someone who can keep it current and complete.

punkottawa has good listings, as does dial613. pollstar is good for big names, and canoe.ca has a show listing service too.

stillepost.ca has a great show listing for Toronto.. I also use zolius.com but that is a Toronto thing.

a friend of mine has set up a site called FanConcert ( www.fanconcert.com )

he's trying to build a social network site for music lovers. A place where you can find out when your favourite bands are playing and where, and even if they are releasing a new album.

It is in the public beta stage right now, but you can join up and be part of the community, adding gigs and venues and bands and such. Right now it's more community driven but Ryan is looking into sourcing feeds so that content is updated automatically as well as through community involvement.

I think it's a pretty cool idea and I hope Ryan can make a go of it, so as many people who can join up and get the community going and the word out about the site the better.

Anyway.. there ya go.

Thanks again guys, I love having good resources on this. My and my pal Shaun (from the Semantics) made a silent vow together (guess it wouldn't be silent then...) to see at least unknown (to us) group /month.

Great way to stay on top of it.
