Jay Funk Dawg
Brian is a shit-hot bass player - Andru Branch found him in Halifax driving Public Transit... after their chance meeting - Brian felt the ich to get back to the stage and started playing with Andru Branch's Halfway Tree - They have travelled together to all over Atlantic Canada plus to Florida and Jamaica for recordings and concerts. These guys are one of the most authenic Roots Rock Reggae bands in Atlantic Canada - definitley worth checking out.Brian's biggest claim to fame is that he backed up Bob Marley, Peter Tosh & Bunny Wailer (at that time they were the Wailing Wailers) in a Studio One session in Jamaica and he came up with the bass line for "Stirr it Up" - which was re-recorded by Bob Marley & The Wailers for Island Records release comlete with his signature bass lick.Nick Fisher, who was the lead saxophonist for High Plains Drifter is now the lead saxophone in Andru's Band - I'm really looking forward to hangin' with these guys!!
