Basher
Saw this on the Interweb and thought it might interest you if you had not heard it already.Google Earth contains a Free Flight Simulator Playing around in Google Earth is already quite a bit of fun, but as an Easter Egg, Google has also included a rudimentary flight simulator in the game featuring two planes you can fly. To unlock the flight simulator you need to open Google Earth and hit Command+Option+A on a Mac or Ctrl+Alt+A on a Windows PC. You can find more information about the controls from the Google Earth Flight Sim Manual .
AD
do yourself a favour and use the Kathmandu runway for your first couple flights, and fly slowly - the Himalayas are quite something.
bouche
I saw that, but I haven't installed google earth since I installed Vista.are you guys enjoying it?
Esau.
For some reason when I hit the Ctrl + Alt + A it just seems to pull the last search/location I entered. I assume I'm doin' something wrong, does this have to be a purchased version or does this work with the free version?
AD
i think you have to have your language settings set to English (US)Try just Ctrl-A as well, some have found that works. It definitely works on the free versions, but you have to have the latest release, 4.2, which was released last week.

AD
for more google earth / maps nerdiness, a Streetview vehicle was spotted in Ottawa yesterday by me, and that means that in the next couple months the Streetview layer in Google Maps will be activated for Ottawa. If you don't know what I'm talking about, go here: http://maps.google.com/help/maps/streetview/They have a huge fleet of cars, and are collecting images 7 days a week all across Canada and the States, so you just might see a red Chevy Cobalt with California plates, a GPS antenna, and a 3 foot camera mast driving around your neighbourhood. bouche
I'm going to find one of those cars and follow it around with a JAMBANDS.CA sign!
