Ok, let me answer my own post, then - wow, what a great scene! I think I'm going to make a habit of this. Anyone who's wanted a low-pressure place to play and have fun should check this out.

You'd have loved it. They also do Sunday afternoon jams that have a great reputation; I'm thinking about dragging the family in this weekend.

Both. It's very open, meaning that you can invite anyone up if you'd like (or it might happen regardless). It certain doesn't come across as a "showcase" kind of open-stage; people are there to play. The crowd crosses over very conspicuously with the Saturday afternoon Irene's crowd.
