Hux
RETURNING TO THE SCENE: Charlie Rose and a TV crew from "60 Minutes II" were in Haight-Ashbury with Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir, members of the Dead, taping a segment to be broadcast this fall. Rose, following the band all summer, is said to have become something of a Deadhead. When this merry band got to the old Dead HQ at 710 Ashbury St., the musicians pulled out acoustic instruments and played "Friend of the Devil" and "Ripple" in a sidewalk concert. ollie
Awesome! Do you have a link for this story? I want to forward it around. Here's my stealth picture of 710... I felt too touristy and stupid to pose in front.
MoMack
Me and my buddy Mooner were so excited/stupid the first time we hit up San Fran that we jumped out of the rig and ran down to 710 Haight not realizing which street we were on. We knocked on the door and the guy told us we were in the wrong spot, but invited us in for a bit and listend to part of a show before we went to Ashbury, where they weren't nearly as friendly. San Fran is a rough city!

Hux
sorry for the delay guys.... the story appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, or Gate or whatever it's called, yesterday, Wed. Sept. 10th. The photo is the middle of the three at the top, and the little write-up is near the bottom of the column.
Lady wa Fan
I posed in front of the steps...hyperventilating on the sheer joy that I had actually found it! Someone had written a lengthy "Miss You Jerry..." letter on one of the posts in black marker. Reminds me...I must get the film developed...
