External Hard Drive

Well My computer is becoming cramped and Ive been toying with the idea of getting a external hard drive to put all my music and shit on, but im not the most computer Savey So anything to look for, watch out for, and whats good not soo good and price ranges and stuff? Brad?

I could, But I like having a big libray on my computer I just play shuffle and it plays on my stereo so I dont have to think of whats on what CD or picking out cds to listen to and such

I have done it 2 ways. I've bought an enclosure (thermaltake) and a drive to put in it for my windows machine connected via USB 2.0 and that works great. 320 gigs or more is the target. You can probably get a 500 gig or even a terabyte for under 150.

For my imac, I got a 320 gig external drive (trekstor) that was on a wicked sale at futureshop on boxing day.

both have saved me. Especially after the breakin. The thieves didn't take my backup drives so all I had to do was restore my shit. the imac was a breeze with the new Time Machine backup software. It had an image of my drive within an hour of it's theft.
