meggo
holy cow. i have been wanting to see them for a long time, and i was not disappointed. i'm definitely not the most hard-core REM fan in town, but you know, they're one of those classic bands we all grew up with. you can check out the setlist on their website if you actually care, the highlight for me was 'nightswimming', o what a pretty song. oh yeah, and, we were in the FRONT ROW. michael stipe looked at me eeeeeek!!! that was super cool. definitely worth every penny. man shows are so much better when you're up close!!! anyway, just wanted to share. cheers y'all! oh and - PS anyone partying in london this w/e? it's going to be my first weekend in town. PalacePrincess
after going to this concert, i have to say i love, love, love michael stipe more than ever! he's such a sexy little animal, smart, funny, dances like his feets is on fire, his voice is absolutely golden (sounds EXACTLY the same live as on rekkid), and you could tell he was having SO much fun up there. the whole band was completely solid, and michael really stole the show. that whole happy birthday bit for the two members of the band was funny too -- imgaine having your happy birthday sung by the entire jampacked ACC, while michael stipe harmonizes along. he's such a sweetie. i've always been a michael stipe fan, and had a place in my heart for REM, but after seeing them live, i love and respect him more than ever. and yeah, night swimming was my "PLEASE PLAY IT" selection, along with man on the moon. he sang both! nice. Blane
I saw REM on the Monster tour a few years ago (geez, maybe more than that now) and they rocked. Definately a band that puts some thought into their shows.
MamaPink
yep - solid live band! Tight and precise and Stipe's voice was wonderful. I had pretty high expectations going into this show, and they didn't disappoint me at all. What a fantastic show... I was very impressed.
