bouche
I've got 2 APEX 415 Wide Diaphragm Condenser Mics and both of them are acting funny. Basically, when I have them set to the cardioid pattern, the signal cuts out. Like.... it sounds fine for a few seconds, and then nothing. I've tried 2 mic cables and I'm getting the same results. Is there something I'm missing here, or are they shot? I don't know what I could have done to make them not work correctly. I'm hoping that the collective knowledge of the sanctuary's electronics and mic wisdom will help me solve this.

phishtaper
is it happening to both mics/channels? that would be very strange but would suggest it is something other than the mics. maybe the deck cannot take a signal that is too hot? dunno. and does the same thing happen when you switch to omni, bouche? if so, it may be the be the switch. it could be anything actually. best to have someone take a look at them, but for what they are worth you dont wanna lay out huge cash to run a full set of tests. sorry to hear this bouche, gear issues suck.
