Hosted by Johnny Gardhouse, Nufunk.ca and The Gerbz, the 4th Annual Toronto Freedom Festival welcomes top talent to the Main Stage from 12:00– 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1st. Located in the heart of downtown Toronto at Queen's Park North, featured pre-march speakers include the Marc Emery, Ron Marzel and Neev Tapiro.

The Main Thing is a seven piece deep funk orchestra that performs the timeless tracks you only wished you'd found yourself. With a stockpile of classic cuts spanning from the legends to contemporaries (including Sharon Jones, The Mighty Imperials, Black Nasty, The Breakestra, & Speedometer), The Main Thing promises to keep your body moving deep into the night.

Dub Monkey is a 9 piece live hypnotic sitar drum ‘n’ bass circus, who pride themselves on live events as an experience, not just a music show. Consistently collaborating with artists of all disciplines to push boundaries and do something different, Dub Monkey officially began in 2009.

Jed Harper aka DJ JEDI initially commenced his career in music as a Hip Hop DJ. Obsessed with experimentation, it wasn't long before JEDI began fusing all genres of music from across the spectrum into his sets. He has held the title of main resident at a majority of Toronto's leading nightclubs and performed alongside the biggest names in both the electronic and urban genres. JEDI's success has found him performing at celebrity parties, festivals across the country and high profile public events like the Toronto Freedom Festival.

2:45 – 3:45 p.m. “Bob Marley & The Wailers Tribute†with The House of David Gang featuring King Selah, Progress, Kidd Rasta & The High Plains Drifter

One of Canada's top roots reggae collectives, The House of David Gang specializes in the timeless and classic Jamaican sound of the 1970s and early 80s. Faithfully recreating the soulful roots rock reggae sound, The House of David Gang is a collective of artists, vocalists, horn players, guitars, and keyboards, backed by a rock-steady rhythm section.

3:45-4:15pm DJ SPENCE DIAMONDS

Spence Diamonds is a prominent DJ in the Toronto club scene with a reputation for rocking parties. He has not only had this success in his hometown but has toured the world and played in destinations such as China, Paris, Scotland, Amsterdam, Vancouver, New York, London and New York with Choclair, Kardinal Offishall, Snow, Maestro & Jhevon Paris as their backing DJ. While on tour with these groups Diamonds has been the opening act rocking big crowds for some of the biggest & best in the business like Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Wyclef Jean,112, De La Soul, , Redman & Method Man, Fabolous, Gang Starr, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Mixmaster Mike(Beastie Boys).

4:20-5:00p.m. Saukrates

Award winning Canadian hip hop artist and producer, Saukrates is known to have an ear for music (classically trained in the violin and cello) and a head for the music industry. Native to Toronto, Saukrates started his career from the independent circuit on up to national prominence, becoming a highly respected MC and highly sought after producer. Saukrates produced the track "Uh-Huh" for Redman's Malpractice album, and appeared on a track called "Enjoy Da Ride". He also did a track called "Fine Line" for the soundtrack to Method Man and Redman's How High movie/ Saukrates also toured with Nelly Furtado on her Get Loose Tour. Saukrates released his much anticipated second studio album, "Season One" in late 2009. Singles include "Fades Away", "Ms. Yesterday" and "On The Run" with K-os and Nelly Furtado.

5:15 -5:45 p.m. God Made Me Funky

Toronto based God Made ME Funky (GMMF) is a live ensemble, comprised of a diverse array of musicians ranging from classically trained jazz artists to street schooled hip-hop and R‘n’B vocalists, with a common bond of moving crowds with their infectious energy. Considered by many to embody the spirit of the Black Eyed Peas this Canadian phenomenon is guaranteed to have people asking ‘What’s the name of this funky band?’

6:00 – 6:45 p.m. EOTO

EOTO is an electro jam band comprised of Jason Hann and Michael Travis of the String Cheese Incident. Hann and Travis made their full-length album debut as EOTO in 2006 with Elephants Only Talk Occasionally on SCI Fidelity Records, followed by second album Razed in 2008. In addition to their album releases, EOTO tours heavily and releases recordings of their live performances. Their live performances are notable for the duo's knack for improvisation.

7:00 – 7:30 p.m. Fritz Helder

Fritz Helder known best as the front man for Toronto’s infamous electro pop group Fritz Helder and the Phantoms has left the phantom world and is now pursuing a solo career. After five years of playing the underground scene with “the Phantoms†and three years dancing with Nelly Furtado on her “Get Loose†world tour, Fritz has a unique insight to the world of music that he brings to his new solo work. One can expect the usual over top live show, but musically, be prepared for more diverse influences and an out of this world charged up, sexed up energy that will definitely get and keep the audience moving.

A wise man once wrote that it was the fate of modern man to live with death from adolescence until it arrives. The only life giving assurance to this human state is to accept the terms of death, to live with it as immediate danger, to set out on the uncharted journey into rebellion, to encourage the psychopath in oneself. One is a rebel or one conforms. At one time in his life, Ko had chosen to live with immediate danger, and this state is vividly reflected in his music.

Gratefully Deadicated Sound System (GDSS) was a DJ set created over ten years ago by Rory Levy, a longtime fan of the band The Grateful Dead. During his DJ sets, original Grateful Dead music is mixed in a seamless set playing legendary songs and jams from memorable concerts woven together to create the ultimate and unique Grateful Dead experience.

DJ MUGGS cancelled his performance at the Toronto Freedom Festival.
