Northern Wish
Anyone know how to intentionally cache a version of a webpage- similar to what AD was seeing on the Ottawa Folk website? There is a now defunct website that is a great resource for me and its about to go down. I'd like to have an archive of it if possible- other than just screenshots.
Kanada Kev
If you're using Firefox, get this addon:https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2570/Dead pages, broken links, the scourge of the internet. Powerhouse sites like Slashdot and Digg can bring a server to its knees. What do we do when a page is dead but we still want to see it? Call in the clerics, and perform a resurrection ceremony! Or, the easier route, use this extension.FeaturesSearches through five big page cache/mirrors:o CoralCDNo Google Cacheo Yahoo! Cacheo The Internet Archiveo MSN Cacheo Gigablasto WebCiteOf course, not every page can be in every cache. When a page is unavailable, you'll generally see that site's error page. Hit back and try another one!* Accessible:o In the context (right-click) menu for the current page, and for all links.o In the toolbar, just customize it to drag the button in.o With the keyboard: press Ctrl-Shift-U

AD
If the site is still active there are free utilities that can download and save a whole website to your machine. I don't remember the name of the one I used to use but it was easyto find.
